The Detroit Pistons are a great basketball team and are going to the NBA finals this year. A lot of people may disagree, but I believe that their experience of blending seasoned veterans with younger players will pay off. They have a deep bench and players who have been to the playoffs several seasons.

I hope you are right zebra. The Detroit Pistons have been my favorite team my whole life. They do have a great bench this season, much deeper than last year. Hopefully everyone can stay healthy. I was very happy to see them beat the Celtics last week. I think that was a prelude to a conference show down later this season. Flip doesn't have a very good play-off record as a coach. I hope this year he can improve on that.

They do have a great bench, and I think it's also worth noting that this same set of bench players are very young too. If the Pistons can hang on to them in the following seasons, they're not only set up to reach the Eastern Conference Finals this year but they're also set up for the future. The group of Jarvis Hayes, Amir Johnson, Jason Maxiell, and Rodney Stuckey is a solid group from the bench but will eventually blossom into potential starters for other teams. I'm hoping they stick it out with Detroit in the following seasons because it will be really something for the Pistons to have these great young guys for them now and in the foreseeable future.

We all know they are gonna make the playoffs, we all know that we have the best backcourt in the NBA. Like many pistons, I'm not a big fan of Flip Saunders and his philosphy last year of trying to guard Lebron one-on-one. I think our biggest question mark is the same as last few years, Can Rasheed Wallace come in every game of the playoffs, produce at his top level w/out getting to many Techs. Wallace is and has been the X factor for our team. If he plays decent D, contributes down low, and steps out for a few 3's a game. There are few teams in the NBA that can even contend with us. But when he goes in, get's to much emotion devoted to arguing with the ref, the rest of our team can't hold pick up his slack. Rip and Chauncy are gonna perfrom there's no doubt to that. Prince is gonna have some good games and some mediocore games but is rarely gonna affect the outcome of the game. Antonio is providing solid numbers. Our bench is best it's been in years and will provide the spark we need when its playoff time. So like I said, let's all pray Wallace can keep his head focused on the game and not the refs.

The key to the Piston's success will rest with their bench. The starters have not had to play as long this year which is important when it comes to the playoffs. Fewer minutes means fresher and more rested veteran starters. Our younger players have responded very well to the extra playing time.

And the bright side is that win or lose, if the bench sticks it out for the Pistons next year and hopefully in the seasons to come, the team would be getting stronger because they're at the point when they're starting to break out of their shells and perform efficiently despite the limited minutes.

The bench has been hot and cold, but I think they have looked better as they have gotten deeper into the season. They may have the depth they need to win this year.

That sounds good to me, I wish they still had big ben on there team he couldn't shoot really but he was good on defence.

agree with you on this one zebra. i joined a betting pool and i have the detroit pistonsas my nba champs. i think the starters are playing better this year and they manage to pace themselves well. for the pst two seasons, they grew tired during the latter round of the play-offs and i don't see that happening this time around. i think it also helps that the pistons have one of the most underrated bench in the league. i mean these players, like stuckey and maxiell, can alredy start with other teams. also looking at the play-off seedings, detroit has the easiest path to get to the ec finals. i think detroit and boston meet in the ec finals amd detroit takes care of boston in 6 games max/ out in the west, i think san antonio makes it through the tough western conference. detroit is champs once again when they beat san antonio in 6 games.
