Can anyone explain Google ranking?

Hi!I just submitted my first article to AC recently. They rejected it because they said the article already had a google ranking of 4 on Helium. I also noticed that some of the sites that pay for blogs also require your blog to have a certain Google ranking. I do not really understand what the Google ranking means. Can anyone help me and explain it? Thanks! CH
