For Those of You NOT Going Out New Year's Eve...

Are you going to have something "special" to eat or will it truly be just another night? My husband and I used to always go out on New Year's Eve, usually somewhere simple where lot of our friends also went but a few times we went all out and spent a fortune - those were always the least enjoyable, it seems it's not necessary to go somewhere fancy and break the bank to have a good time! It's been years since we've gone out, however; we now usually have some seafood and other goodies to eat and just sit around and watch movies or some marathon on TV. It's actually pretty nice, we don't spend lots of money, we don't have to worry about being out on the roads with lots of what a friend always called "amateur drunk" and there's no lousy hangover to deal with the next day! I'm hoping to get some shrimp if I can figure out how to afford it...lol...but I'm afraid I probably won't be having my lobster tail this year...boo-hoo! What about you? Anything special on your menu to wave out 2007? Annie

The only thing that I really enjoy on New Years is going to my church for the celebration. I doubt that I will be doing that this year, so it will be like any other day for me. I think that people put way too much into a day such as this. To me, I am just grateful to God to see another year.

I think a lot of people will use any excuse for a party or celebration and businesses of course will capitalize on it to make huge profits. You have a very healthy attitude! Happy New Year to you and may 2008 bring more joy and less worries and sorrow! Annie

A lobster dinner sounds like a great idea. Aldi has them for $9.99 each. They are frozen, but would make a great side dish. We don't bother venturing out either. It is easier to stay at home and enjoy each other's company.

I've no plans for New Year's Eve yet. I imagine I probably won't be doing anything special, I don't normally celebrate it these days. On New Years Day though I have my daughter and her family coming round for dinner so we will have a special meal then. No idea what I'm going to cook yet though!

I have never went out on New Years Day. I always see the ball drop and then see a movie. This year I will watch The Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie marathon on TCM.It is going to be great.

Nope, not for me. It will be just another night for me and my children this year. My husband is overseas, but we don't go out anyways even when he's home. To many drunk people out on this night. My children will be in bed and I will probably sit on the couch or be on the computer until the ball drops and then go to bed. No special foods or anything like that. I will be watching it alone this year. God bless

Just the average everyday thing for us. My baby is on meds so he dont drink. I wanted to do fake champagne glasses with Sparkling Apple Cider but he said nah. I used to make black eyed peas I think it was called Jumpin Jack it's a superstation to have a good new year on New Years day and thought well nothing special has ever come out of it but then again nothing bad has happened either so I think I may make that this year.

I never go out New Year's Eve, because the world and his wife is out, everywhere is crowded, pubs charge double prices as do taxis and it's cold out! So we never bother, New Year isn't that important to me, it's just the passing into January, probably the worst month of the year! Bah humbug LOL! No we rather stay in and after having roast turkey and pork for Christmas, we have a nice piece of roast beef and all the trimmings, have a glass of bubbly and see in 2008. Dad will watch Big Ben chime and I will spend ages after midnight texting my friends to wish them a happy new year!

For me the hollidays are a way for calm relaxation, so all this noise arround bores me. I am not a party woman. No any plans, probably i will stay at home with my family, have some food and drink together and this is all. But my parents are different, they allways prefer here to be noisy and full with people. So probably they will organize a party again.

Nope nothing special here. S/o is working days and they haven't decided which day they're giving him off as a holiday, either New Year's Eve or New Year's Day but it won't matter anyway. He'll either come home to tired to stay up til midnight or have to go to bed early to leave at 5:30am. We're broke too so no special foods...we are going to Philly on the 3rd...although not for fun, so that'll have to do as our "something special".

Hello! My father plans a barbecue for the last day of the year. My mother doesn't want it. So, I can't really say we'll have something special, since I cannot be so sure. But what matters is that I want to enjoy the last day, for sure, and the new year even more. I wish you luck finding the lobsters, and a happy New Year! Respectfully.

My eight year old and I are going to make funfetti cupcakes and watch our favorite movies of this year and see who falls to sleep first... neither of us usually make it to midnight-lol. I haven't gone out for New Year's Eve since I became a mom. But I have more fun with her than I ever did before she was born :)

I am not the staying-home type, though when I have a rough week, I normally will just stay on my bed and cuddle with my girl friend. In the past years, I would normally go out and join the countdown, but this year, I will be going to my girl friend's province for a peaceful celebration of new year with her extended family. Guess, I will be staying home too this new year's eve. =D May we all have a blessed new year.

For the first time, I will be away from my family this New Year's eve, I will therefore spend it with my friends who, like me, cannot afford to go for a break now due to work commitments. I don't think we would be cooking something on our own, we'll just buy a sumptuous meal somewhere. Although, it's a little sad that we are not with our respective families, we told ourselves, we will try to make the best out of it. Happy New Year!

Just your average everyday dinner for us on New Year's Eve. I don't have any plans to go out and don't have any plans to make a special dinner. It will be pretty much a regular day here.

My family and I have a 3pm late lunch early dinner out planned. Think we are going to O'Charleys. Kids eat free! That's what my daughter yells any time you say O'Charleys. Then in for the night pop some popcorn in my air popper (Christmas gift) Maybe watch some movies and play some new games with my kid. She likes Cootie. Pretty boring huh? And I am looking forward to it.
