The quote i love most is in the conversation between Leonidas and Xerxes.
Xerxes: But I am a generous god. I can make you rich beyond all measure. I can make you warlord of all Greece. You will Carry my battle standard to the heart of Europa. Your athenian rivals will kneel at your feet... if you will but kneel at mine.
King Leonidas: You are a generous as you are divine, oh king of kings. Such an offer only a madman would refuce. But the idea of kneeling... you see, slaughtering all those men of yours has left a nasty cramp in my leg. So kneeling is going to be hard for me.

haha ya they definately made him a closet case.. but fitted the character perfectly i think.. maybe some underlying meaning? haha anywho i loved the xerxes character also :D

300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!!. the greatest sequence when the king as a young lad fights the beast and also , when he kicks the intruder into the well..
