Dont get me wrong I love the holidays, but they are soo exhausting and expensive that Im glad to see Christmas go until next year. I think I broke the bank this year and I promised myself that I would start xmas shopping in July from now on! Was just wondering how everyone else's Holiday was and if you are happy to see it go! :)

I'm with you. Call me a scrooge, that is fine. But, it still wouldn't be true b/c Scrooge was rich! I don't have money for Xmas anymore, it has become to commercialized and materialized. What happened to family, games, traditions? Why does it have to be who has the most presents, Suzy only got 10 and Bobby got 20, we will have to make sure to get Suzy 10 more presents so she isn't sad when she opens them xmas morning! I mean what the heck!

My family gets together to play games and have lots of fun food. It still gets exhausting, though! We only do stocking gifts instead of the larger ones.

Yeah I know what you mean...It sucks that people put soo much emphasis on presents...I think presents are more special for kids when they are younger and its not about quantity, but quality..Try explaining that to the kids today and they dont get it...I prefer to make sure my kids have a good xmas and for me its about the time with family and good friends!

hi smwilliams! ^__^
my Christmas went great because i received a lot of gifts from officemates and i gave a lot of gifts to the children in the family, my first and second degree nieces and nephews, and to my godchildren and grandchildren. (yep, in my young age i already have grandchildren. ^__^;;) it was fun seeing how they were excited to open their gifts and it was more fun seeing how they were happy with it that they started using it the moment they opened it. ^__^
but yeah, i'm a little thankful too that it was all over. i realized i spent a lot of my savings buying all those gifts and now i have to start saving again for the next year. .

I wish you a Happy New Year as well! I hope that the move to a new town is graet for you. I will probably not start shopping in July. I think it has become a joke that I say that every year. And as for feeling the loss of people dear to you I totally understand. I have lost several people very close to christmas time so its hard for my family as well! Well Like I said I hope you have a Happy New Year! :)

I thought I was the happiest person in the world that Christmas is over. I enjoy doing Christmas for my kids, but even that is getting stressful. This year we decided not to do gifts for any others, except for my kids and stocking stuffers for my parents. Even still, the holiday season just seems to be so full. I have to say... I am a routine person and love when it is time to settle back into the day to day activities.

I understand not wanting to haul the kids around on Christmas. My husband and I used to go to each of our parents' houses for each holiday, but that got to be too much. We decided to switch off holidays- Thanksgiving at one, Christmas at the other. Even that gets to be a lot, though, because we usually do Christmas Eve at one place and Christmas Day at the next. The kids are so exhausted by the end of Christmas Day that it starts getting miserable. I'm sure it would be easier just having all the parents come to my house. Unfortunately my parents and his don't really get along too well, though. Argh!!! I think no matter how you handle it Christmas will always be stressful- especially if you are routine oriented like I am.

I think thats exactly what it is...The holidays add stress to any daily routine. This year I told all the parent that next year they can come to our house for christmas because we have 3 kids to haul everywhere when its a blizzard outside. So we will see if next year is any easier...Thanks for the reply! :)
