I had one less than a year ago. I try to get a checkup every year. At the very least I'll find out how my health is in terms of breathing, heart rhythm, blood pressure, etc. And the blood tests can give advance warning of many potential problems. Naturally a physical exam can't catch a lot of things, but overall it seems like a good idea to me to have one once a year.
