This morning on television they were naming some very odd events that took place during 2007. One of them they named was this guy went to a garage sale and bought a meat smoker. When he got it home there was a human foot inside! Seems the guy that owned it had to have his foot amputated because of an accident and wanted to keep it until he died so it could be buried with him. The foot was returned to the origional owner and the smoker has not yet been used! What was the oddest thing you heard of in the past year?

Ans so he kept it in a meat smoker!? Hadn't he heard of freezing or keeping it in a big jar of formaldehyde...I miss my spell check for words like that...or something, I don't know, but there has to be a better way than in a meat smoker! And how exactly do you forget that you stored your FOOT in ...well in anything for that matter.
Something odd that I've heard this year...the reason why some Americans can't find our country on a world map from the Miss whatever it was.

LOL sorry I got distracted and my last sentence didn't come out right...I meant to say that I couldn't really think of any odd happenings but the oddest thing I've heard was Miss South Carolina (teen)) said in response to her interview question about a percenatage of Americans not being able to find our country on a world map. Here's the link if you haven't heard about this before: http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/08/27/miss-teen-usa-contestant-talks-about-maps-schools-other-things

Don't know how I missed that on the morning show but guess I did. Pretty disgusting, don't you think? Someone should have checked the smoker before it was sold...lol I know I would have looked inside if I were buying something used. Might find something personal in there other than a body part.

Not only have I heard this story, but I know some of the parts you have missed. The guy who bought the foot wanted to keep it as a side show attraction to make money off of. The guy whose foot it was wanted it back because he had preserved it in the smoker for his own use. So what happens? They go on Judge Mathis to work it out.
The guy sued for his foot back, the purchaser wanted restitution for all the sales he lost because of the missing foot (You see, at some point the owner of the foot got possession of it again, I think through the police, but through local legislation the purchaser got it back) Finally, Judge Mathis resolved the issue and gave the man back his foot.
