A Mother's Work Is Never Done!

I was up until midnight last night trying to prepare an at home speech program for my son and I am still not finished with the photocopying let alone putting it all together and setting it up so that anyone can implement it when there is a spare moment...
I went out yesterday and bought a new black ink cartridge as that ran out a couple weeks prior to Christmas and no one has had time to replace it so I did that yesterday and started the big project last night.
So, Mom's out there, what are some big projects that you have tackled or things you have done for your children?
Maybe you are a Dad and you have tackled huge projects for your children at a sacrifice of time or finances...
Share all of your stories here
Did the project have a good outcome or were there some bumps along the way?
For me, I had a hard time loading the paper into the printer correctly at one point last night when it ran out and then there is the issue of having to buy the ink...Sure hope the rest runs smoothly as I want to get this set up for the new year...That gives me a couple more days to finish this (Wish me luck!)
Thanks in advance for any and all stories shared here.

I have no idea what a 'home speech program' is but it seems to involve a lot of work for you.
It seems odd but if the idea is that the student gets someone else to do the work (delegation of work studies?) then maybe it would take some load off your shoulders if you went to these sites where you can buy a thesis or buy homework, whatever.
But you are right, we have all got involved with our children's studies and it seems to be expected today.
Nearly 20 years ago now (gosh - is it really that long!!) I helped my daughter do a graph on my Amstrad 512 computer (yes - it had a massive 512Kb of RAM and twin 360Kb floppy disc drives, no hard drive!). It was for a project on the ecology of a beach and the diversification of plant and animal life on a cross section from the sea to about a mile inland.
I found it very interesting but it was a steep learning curve for both of us to get the crude computer program to do what we wanted.

My son is four and has Autism...He has just finished a speech block and now will not receive any more therapy until the Spring...The therapist gave me a whole program to implement at home but I must keep her copies as masters and photocopy sheets to use...Then hole punch and set up in order in binders so that we can continue to progress him in speech. It has nothing to do with his schooling etc. as he is so young we just need to work on his speech so that we can understand what he is saying...There is nothing I need to purchase as I have it all provided here it is just the time in putting it all together! I don't mind the task....I just thought others may like to share here also :)
My son is a 24/7 job and I have to work outside the home but I have many on his team to help me out and he is doing so well! :)
Thanks so much for your response here and your concern.
I wish you a very Happy New Year!

He he! Wow - I see what you mean now. I had visions of you writing a speech for him to give at his home college!
Maybe that will be your job in a few years time!!
Happy New Year to you and yours.

I have two sons, and well I did not need to do anything for them, or what I can remember. I mean what can I think of? They are in their thirties and I did not keep a diary or a journal. I helped them learn how to make cookies, and helped them put together a lego puzzle, together, but no big school projects, nothing that had any remembrance. They were the types of kids who would do it themselves. Oh I feel so bad! No great stories from me. Oh why did I not have a camera around and take notes? I think I will give myself a pity party. (:

Oh suspenseful.....
No need to throw a pity party!
I thank you so much for joining in here and am glad that your children did so well...I can't be upset with you as you are old enough to be a parent of mine...I will be thirty on Saturday! :)
I have no need to keep a journal with my son as he has Autism and I will never forget all of the work I have put into him but it is worth it!
Anyhow, I wish you a very Happy New Year!
