Would you participate in a clinical study to test the side effects of new drugs?

I know a friend who does this and has not been adversely affected (and he makes a lot of mney for doing it). Would you participate in such a study? The tested medications are usually safe and have been tested extensively in other test subjects (animals). Even in these cases, I do not think I would be able to parcipate in such a study.

Absolutely I will never participate in such a clinical study even the tested medications are said to be safe and had been tested extensively in animals. The great deal of money they paid will never as essential as my precious life. I know I am rather selfish and for not willing to sacrifice myself in this great and righteous study.
