The organic fruits usually cost a little more than the inorganic fruits over here in Canada. Why is that? What is the difference?

All of the above comments. If you have ever eaten a piece of organic fruit and compared that it to a piece of fruit that has been grown with the help of chemicals, you'd clearly know the difference. It's true that it is more expensive, but it so much better for you.

Organic fruit is grown only with natural fertilizers and not with the chemical fertilizers and they do not use chemical repellents. So naturally the crop is smaller that the farmers get out of the same amount of work and land. This makes that the organic fruit is more expensive. But often it is more tasty and worth the money. Happy mylotting!

Organic fruits and vegetables are those that were grown naturally without the help of fertilizers, pesticides, etc. Since it is natural, it takes longer and more work for the farmers and it's land owners. There are lesser harvest occurence. For this reason, it becomes more expensive, plus the fact that it is healthier than inorganic foods.

Fruits - Organic fruits displayed for sale.
In organic farming, they do not use chemicals and therefore the growth of the plants are slower and and the fruits do not ripen as fast as those given chemicals. However, the fruits are natural and more delicious and safer to eat as they do not contribute to the development of various disease especially cancer and so the prices of natural or organic fruits are higher than those treated with chemicals.

Organic and Inorganic foods are different not only in the way its harvested but also in the health benefits. So Organic foods may cost higher than the inorganic as it requires high natural supplements for its growth. So organic foods are more tasty and has high nutritional values.
