UGH! I broke my glasses. Now what?

My glasses broke into 2 pieces. The metal that holds the 2 lens together came loose. It started to come loose last night, but they are now officially broken in half. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix them? Or am I just screwed?

You can try a bit of super glue. Last time my son broke his we did that and it lasted long enough to get another pair of frames in.

my glasses also broke recently, I have a discussion on the situation as well. What I did, and it may also be worth it to you to also - is take them to the optometrist and ask if they were warenteed, turns out that they are going to replace them for free - I just need to pay the shipping costs. if they can not replace yours perhaps they can fix them or at least offer you a discount on a new pair of frames - the frames might fit your existing lenses and that would save money too

I sure hope someone knows how to help. Theprogramer probably will. And with it being January first tomorrow, no one will be open, or will they? They won't be around here.

Super glue...the only other thing I can think of is rather unattractive tape of some kind and I doubt you want to do that. A small amount might be helpful until the glue fully sets if you have to wear them at the same time but otherwise I hope the glue is all you need.

if you do super glue it can ruin your lens if you super glue and it does not work it will erase any warrentee the glasses might have - so check first if you can get them replaced.

Since it's been a week now since you posted this, I sure hope you've gotten them fixed by now. I'm posting this directly from my e-mail notification so I don't know if someone already told you this, but they sell eyeglass repair kits that have the little tools and I think the little screws you need to fix things like that. We have several of them because my grandson breaks his glasses like twice an hour...lol! Annie

The middle piece. Ouch, sounds like time for solder or monkey glue. Maybe someone can give you eyeglasses for Christmas.
