I use my cellphone when I'm working, and last month my bill was 7300,- NOK. That is about £665,- and $1120,- The last 5 years, that's my average. CRAZY!

Is this the new phone system I've been hearing about? Something with cellphones jumping on the wireless routers?

I have digital phone through timewarner cable. I pay $39.99/month for it. It includes all of the major features such as call waiting, caller ID, I also have voice mail. I have totally free long distance in all of the US, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Canada. I dont think its a bad rate.

Hi! If you pay $39.99 a month, it's a good rate. But that's not your cell phone, is it? In Norway, where I come from, people allmost never use something else than cells... And the rate is terrible! For local calls(all of Norway) I pay $0,11/min and that's high.

Maybe not so bad if you spend 28 hours a month talking. Free calls sounds great, but if you see how many minutes you can talk for $39.99/month, I'm not so sure it's so good. Of course, it's very difficult to know if you have a good deal or not, if you don't have something to compare with.

YES!!! Our phone company charges us a $20 fee a month for some plan where we get 500 minutes on our house phone and then we get charged for caller id. Not only that but we also pay a fee for long distance and still have to pay 5 cents a minute and then taxes on all of that. It is ridiculous but they are the only phone company in our area. The phone company is CenturyTel, so if anyone can avcid going with this phone company, then do. They charge you for everything.

Hello cajunmomma! This sounds like piracy!! But in a short time, I know you'll get another choice. Trust me;-) And as crazy as it seems, the alternative company is Norwegian. It is named in this discussion tread.... In the meantime... Don't you have some gators in your area Cajunmomma? I KNOW THEY ARE HUNGRY. And CenturyTel meat's got this fleshy rich taste;-)

In most cases (the telecom giants) the prices are redicilous! Voip services are of course much lower!
