Baltimore Ravens let Brian Billick Go

I was surprised that it happened as quickly as it did. I was hoping that they would have kept Brian for another year and just got a new offensive coach. I think Brian had too much on his plate trying to call the plays each week. But, I guess, this is for the best for the team. There was lots of grumblings that the players were not happy with Brian. Now it will be interesting to see who they replace Brian with. As I am typing this, I thought that the ideal coach could be right in their organization . . . . Rex Ryan. Or I wonder if Marvin Lewis' contract is up with the Bengals? This will be an interesting couple of weeks.

He should get another job as a head coach somewhere (ATL?), I don't think he's a bad coach. He did win a Superbowl for the Ravens. I guess 9 years is a long time though for a pro coach. I would definitely root for a defensive coach if I were a Raven fan. That D still has a ton of talent but they looked flat this year (they were my fantasy D 'til I picked up the Lions who outscored the Ravens most of the year)

I don't think it was him that won the super bowl for them as you said they have an amazing defense. He is an offensive coach. The year they won the super bowl they had the best defense by far in the league and that is what New York could not compete with. Marvin Lewis is the reason they won the super bowl. Not Brian Billik he is an offensive coach and the offense of Baltimore as always been terrible. They won the super bowl and I believe every touchdown but one in that game was scored by the defense

I couldn't believe it either, at first, when I heard about it. Well, actually, I totally could believe it, but as you said: I couldn't believe it happened so quickly! I think, and hope, Rex Ryan stays with us in Baltimore!! He DOES have a few other offers... so we shall see.
