Do you notice your mylot milestones?

I just had a wonderful friend point out to me that I was now at over 6000 posts. I hadn't noticed it, though I've known for a couple days now that I was getting really close.
I remember the past few thousand markers I've had people point it out to me as well. I'll realize when I'm close, but never the exact point at which my post count turns over.
Do you notice your mylot milestones? Do they mean something to you? Does someone else point them out to you if you don't notice?

Congrats! On reaching and getting past 6000.:-)
Yea, I notice all my mylot milestones without fail. Also my friends'.
Recently I surpassed 500. I'm glad that I now have the services of copy-pasting and adding images to my responses and comments.
They come only once in a while, so they can be one of the motivational factors to post more on mylot. There's a lot of difference between 5999 and 6000, I mean psychologically there is.
The same can be said about getting into four-figures from three-figures, i.e from 999 to 1000.
So, my gut feeling says, I will be inclined to post more than now when I reach 1000. Therefore, I must say it does mean something to me. I'm looking forward to 1000 now.
Happy new year, lecanis!

Thanks!
That's exactly what happened to me, noticing I was close but then not realizing when I hit it. You're less than 100 away from 2000 I notice!
I must just love to hang out here to have that many posts, though there are still tons of people who are ahead of me.
Happy New Year to you as well! :)

I haven't been here very long yet, but for now, yes I do. I noticed when I got to 100 because I was waiting for that one to see what my star rating would be...I was afraid it was going to suck! LOL! Especially because when I first started, I couldn't really think of anything of real substance or quality that I wanted to talk about when I posted discussions, so a lot of them were real simple, like; "what's your favorite song by whatever band?" or something...then some of them were just dumb stuff because I was bored; infact I even posted a discussion that basically just said, "I'm bored, blaaa....maybe I'll go to bed."...or something like that, don't remember exactly...haha...and then there's the fact that I sometimes have a habit of rambling when I respond to other peoples' discussions....which I seem to be doing yet again...so, ok, anyways, yeah, I noticed 100 because I was worried about my star, seems to be ok though.
Now I'm waiting for 500 so I can copy and paste because there are so many times when that would come in so handy. After that I'm not sure if I'll notice or not; but I probably won't pay that much attention...Ok, I'm done rambling now. Have a happy New Year!

Hehe I remember thinking I was probably going to start out with a 1 because I tend to be kind of controversial, but I had an 8 at first I think, which quickly went up. You're doing pretty well on the star thing! :)
I tend to make really, really long posts, and I think sometimes that puts people off, but I wonder if at this point people don't just sometimes give me a + and move on instead of even reading my freaking novel-like responses. *giggles*
Good luck with your posting, and Happy New Year!

Congrats on reaching that milestone. I just started, but I find this pretty easy to get a lot of posts pretty easy. I'm not too sure if they are quality over quantity though. I have been trying to start a few thoughtful discussions. So far a few bites...Hopefully I'll be up there soon.

I know quality seems to be fairly important when it comes to the money aspect at least, as well as to making friends here. *shrugs* It took me almost a whole year to build up those 6000 posts, so I haven't been racking them up too quick personally. Then again, I also have a job and a kid. :P

C O N G R T U L A T I O N S!!
6000 posts is a great milestone indeed. Even I am 1 year old here but look at my posts. You have doubelled me in the same amount of time. It feels great to reach something like that. That reminds me my friend SSH has 17000 posts to his credit - can you beat it!
Me personally hardly look at my posts. Initially I was enthusiastic enough and would set my target, which is good in a sense but now, I hardly care. I stop doing things the moment I feel it's not happening or not coming spontaneously from within.
Thanks.
WISHING YOU AND FAMILY A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I am glad that you are back to work. Yes, it would be a little difficult to get more time but I am sure the quality is what depends more than quantity.
We will get more and more substantial posts from you.

I was home from work sick for about half the year, so I think that's part of why I had so much time to post here. I wonder if I'll get as many posts in next year now that I'm back to work or not!
Somehow I don't think I'm ever going to catch SSH! :P
I stop posting when it's no longer fun for me too. I'm here to have fun!
Happy New Year to you and yours as well!

I used to notice these things but don't really pay much attention now. I haven't been real active the last few months and when I do get here I'm paying more attention trying to catch up with or touch base with my great friends here. LOL when I post this I'll have to check to see where I'm at because I have no idea right now.

I am like you. WHen I am close to one I will look and say" Wow I alread posted almost.. whatever numbers discussions or comments" but then I forget all about it, I don't think I even know where I am right now in terms of numbers.
I suppose it's because they don't have any special meaning to me, the only one that had meaning was I think the 500 because then I could post pictures, but that was about it:)

Hehe... I was giggling when I read "I don't think I even know where I am right now" before I realized what came after it. :P
Yup, they don't really have a meaning anymore, beyond "this is how much I've posted" but I kind of think it's neat to know that. I keep making goals of passing up certain friends who started after me but have more posts, so I guess part of the reason I think of it is because of them too!

LOL sometimes I really don't know where I am at the moment, literaly, but that's another story LOL
I used to push myself to catch up with other members that were close to me in posting, but since I don't always have much time to be here I decided to stop because my efforts were not consistent. If I have time on the computer I post a lot, if not I might not post for days :)

*nods* I really just have one specific person I mostly want to catch up with. It's been my goal pretty much since he passed me up, considering he joined after me, and is a close friend. I'm just silly like that. ;P
I really don't take it too seriously if I can't get on though... my life is more important in the long run.

I try to set myself goals to reach a certain number of posts by a certain date. I usually do tend to notice when I'm about to reach another 100 posts, and right now I'm working hard to reach 2000. Congrats on over 6000 - that's fantastic!

Hello lecanis!:-)
Wow, you made it this far, already!? Congratulations! I hope you will make it double in half the time...well, ofcourse, while taking care of other things in your life.
I did notice my mylot milestones (100...500...1000) but it appears that every time, the time has expanded. I achieved my last milestone almost 4 months ago and with this I hope to have another in 3 years time, lol!
I was excited when I crossed 100 and amuzed when I crossed 500 as both of them brought new options for me. I was happy for 1000 too but not as excited as I was for first 100.

Haha, I can always try to make double in half the time at least. That sounds like a good goal! I'll put it on my list right after "catching up to Transdisc". :P
100 was a very exciting one for me as well, mainly because of the whole star thing. I'm such a controversial person, and I wondered how people were taking that about me. I really expected to start out with a really low star number, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Good luck to both of us!

And, I am surprised to know that you are a controversial person! I think that you have a good way with the words, are quite articulate and can handle even the difficult subjects in a pleasant way even if those subjects are controversial in themselves.
Anyways, I wish you luck with doubling your number!:-)

I think that I noticed my first milestone of hitting 100 posts which to me was awesome becuase then I got the star to show my reputation and then When I hit 200 I really didn't notice but I did notice when my star went from 8 to 9 .. I guess there are things that I notice and things that I don't .. So far noone has pointed it out to me.

Yup, the star thing is a big one! :)
I don't notice the hundreds anymore, though I did the first few. I feel like I've been here such a long time now!
I don't think anyone pointed mine out to me for a long time, but now they do. I have sooooo many friends here now, it's a blessing. :)

Congratulations on reaching 6000 posts. I am looking forward to reach 2000 posts in two months. This is my goal. I think it is nice to achieve personal milestones. How many posts do you make a day? Do you post everyday. I do not post everyday. I usually make anywhere from 10 response to 50 response per day. The maximum I think I made is around 50 response to discussions a day. I know when I was close on reaching 1000 discussions.

Good luck with your goal!
I don't post every day, though it's probably fairly close. I don't honestly pay attention to how much I post, actually. However, it took me a year almost to make 6000 posts, since I started in January. So that's only about 500 posts a month, far less than a lot of people I know. I'm actually hoping to pick it up some this year and make more, but I've got a lot of offline obligations as well.

I do notice it everytime, my friend. But I try to as cool and quiet as possible, I try not to be vocal but be more inspired to post "meaningful thoughts" as I could. When I come close to that turning point, my friends were the first one's to congratulate me either on posting or by sending me some PM's.

Hi friend. This really makes you proud be. You deserve to be so because you have much valuable input here and off course spent your precious time too. Well, I use mylot so rare and hence there is no concern of milestone :) but surely while I had been so regular, I was very much keen to make my reputation here higher but you know this is much difficult to produce good all the times. Thanks for giving us chance to share.

Hi lecanis,
Happy New Year. Wow! You have a lot of posts. I am nowhere near a number of posts to talk about milestones, but I guess it goes to show you have made an impact on other users with your dedication and contributions to the mylot community. Congratulations and Happy Posting.

Thanks, adforme! :)
It always surprises me when people say I've made an impact on other users, but then I think about all the people here who have made an impact on me. There are quite a few of them now. :)
Happy posting! Happy New Year! Happy everything! Hehe!
