Yeah! December was a bad month for the cold and flu! You can't imagine about 5 different people that live in a household coughing up a storm, relying on halls, cough syrup and antibiotics! And check out those TV Commercials that show cold remedies like every 5 minute! Nyquil! Robitussin! Alka Seltzer! What a headache! Right now I've been taking Halls, using Vicks Vapor Rub for my nose and chest! I've been also using a neubalizer which flushes out my lungs pretty good! How about you all? What's your remedy?

For the past four years now, I had been using water as cure for colds and flue for me and my family personally. Drink a lot of water! Every after 30 minutes or 1 hour. Of course you will also urinate many times, but the way I understand it, it is cleaning your body systems. It works all the time. If you do that, after two days your colds will be gone. If you don't take this advice, it will take you 2 weeks or more! Happy new year to you.

I would recommend that too, always drink plenty of fluids, the doctor will tell you that.

Growing up I was never introduced to any of those store bought remedies. Whenever a cold was coming on, my parents took us to the beach so that it could help release some of the mucus from our system. If I have been sick 5 times in my whole entire life it is a lot. I use good old home remedies, most are Caribbean based. But the one that I have adopted and live by is the use of natural lemon and honey. I take this on a regular basis, but it's good to use on those days when you are not at your best. I take lots of Aloe and Orange Juice as well. To some people it may be easier to purchase something from the store, but to me...natural works best. Hope you feel better. Be blessed and Happy New Year!

Right now everyone in my house is sick. Besides the flu medicine everyone is on, they get extra warm baths, lots of fluids and rest. Except for me the mommy cause the mommy has no time for rest. Pretty basic really but it just has to take its course.

Rest for a few days and avoid any unnecessary activity. As you begin to feel better, gradually increase what you do. Drink plenty of clear fluids such as water or fruit juice. If you don't feel like eating, have nourishing fluids such as chicken soup and broths. Take a painkiller or flu remedy to relieve aches and pains. To relieve the "stuffed-up" feeling, use a steam inhalation. Warm or chilled drinks soothe a sore throat. Try making a warm honey and lemon drink. Don't smoke or allow anyone to smoke near you.
