I just got wireless internet yesterday. I can use it on my laptop and my desktop. I just have it installed on my laptop so far though. I just put the disc in and instal the software then I have to connect this little box into the usb. It is simple to use. And it is just as fast as my dsl was. I live in the country also. I couldn't get cable internet out here. Anyway, does anyone else have wireless? What do you think of it?

Please tell me more about it! I didn't realize you could get it to work on a desktop computer. So I take it you don't need to go through your phone line? How expensive is it and can anyone get it. I'm posting this from my e-mail so I apologize of these questions have already been answered! Annie

I got this little thing that plugs into my usb on the computer. It is sort of like a phone b/c it has it's own phone number. The internet dials thru it. You have to set the software up on the computer. I have alltel. I really like it too. It works wherever your phone would work. I am sure anyone can get it. No doesn't go thru the phone line. I think mine is $60 a month. It's kinda high, but i can take it anywhere. I love that.

Wireless i beleive is a certain convenience. All other features can match dsl where stats can match up. Although price may be a factor, the convenience of being able to travel around your house while browsing the internet is quite good. I personally am still trying to get taht upgrade for my home laptop and pc.

I don't just want to travel around the house. I wanted to have internet wherever I took my laptop. I do now.

I too have wireless internet. I believe also, that it is quite convient. The reason is that one can get on their laptop, and go virtually anywhere ini their house. If they have a good enough router, they can go virually anywhere on their property. What one has to make sure of though, is that if the router is so powerful, that their neighbors can use their internet. If this happens, then you can find yourself having reducued performance.

It's a good thing that I don't have any neighbors then. I live in the country and there is only 1 other house on my road. i don't have a router. It is just a little box that plugs into my usb on my laptop. I can take it with me. That is how I can get online anywhere.
