What do you think about earning on MyLot?

What do you think about posting on Mylot and earning money from it? Do you think it creates a false sense of friendship? Is it just a clever way to attract users? Does it put people in the position of having discussions with people they should not be? Some of these discussions are quite personal, and I would hope that if someone needed actual advice on personal life issues, they would do so with sincere people. Do people just say anything for the money? What do you think?

In my opinion, adforme, you get out of anything whatever you are willing to put into it. I would assume that most of us were drawn to MyLot by the prospect of making a little spending money, but, in the process have bonded with friends from near and far away. As far as dispensing advice goes, most of us are sharp enough to seperate the wheat from the chaff. We know the people who deliver well thought-out responses to our discussions, and we know the ones who don't have a clue.

Thank you for your response Worldwise1. I would say that you are qualified to make the statement you just made. I think you have been here long enough to know the wheat from the chaff. Take Care.

It really depends on the person posting comments in mylot. Not all people are the same. People have different point of views so I think each and everyone of us here in mylot have different agendas. Maybe some are really here to find new friends or to gain new knowledge. Some are really alone so their means of seeking happiness is through posting and reading comments here. Some just want to earn extra cents.

Mylot use to pay very good, when I started Mylot was paying me 32 to 33.00 that was real good money for one month. now it takes me about 3or 4 months, to make the payout. I now have $5.03 it still is going to take a while. I wouldn't want to refer anyone one right now because the pay is so low. people don't have time to make 5 cents a day.

Hello again Marciascott, Thank you for your response. Wow $32.00-$33.00 a month. That was very good pay. I realize that the "pennies for my thoughts" make for a long uphill climb to obtain a payout; but I am enjoying expressing myself and I just put it all in perspective. There are several ways to benefit from being a Mylot member. The money is definitely attractive and it requires dedication to reach a payout, but it is all in good fun. Take Care.

You are right. You don't make friend in mylot. You develop contacts which are useful for online earnings. Mylot used to pay generously but now they are not so. For people who are not interested in making money, this site is useful for posting discussions and by responding to other discussions. One good thing about mylot is it pays sincerely to those who reach minimum payout.

Thank you for responding Madhavee. I like the opportunity to find people with simliar interests and have a social network. I like having discussions. This one in particular is allowing me to learn more about Mylot. From what I am reading, Mylot used to pay more than it does now. I found that interesting. I have only been in the Mylot community for 9 days, and I am noticing how it has changed for some. Take Care.

I think theres a lot of discussion here that are not personal. Theres a lot of topic here that will you choose what ever you want and fit to your best interest. If you select some personal that hurt your feeling maybe that topic is not suited for your mood and taste. And one of the goal here is just earning money by sharing your idea. And just winning some friends here.

Hello again Aries_0325, Thank you for your response. People have their reasons for being here; but if someone needs help with a problem that is life changing, I believe they should get adequate help from a professional and/or family. You are right about the wide variety of discussions that are not personal, but some of them are. Take Care.

Yeah, I think that the whole purpose of MyLots is facinating. Of course the "friendships" that you make here are not exactly friendships like in real life, but social networking is sort of the in thing. These discussions are interesting because they do show some wisdom of the group wisdom.

Thank you for responding kdhartford. I am more inclined to go with your "social networking" idea. I think the discussions are good for expressing views through subject matter and responses, and with the comments on the responses. Take Care.

Well, personally, I don't consider these discussions friendship building. Maybe some people might make friends if they find a way to contact others off mylot, but I don't see how you can make real friends posting in a bunch of different discussions. You're just trying to rack up the number of discussions you respond to, not really forming relationships. As for having discussions with people they shouldn't, well it's like anything else. People have the choice of using their own discretion. I have no problem saying my reason for being here is the money (there are other sites for real discussions between people if I wanted that) and even so, I try to stay on topic and post thoughtful responses like you're supposed to.

Hi Angelwriter, Thank you for your response. I am surprised by your honesty. You are here for the money and you respond thoughtfully to discussions. There is nothing wrong with that in my opinion. I appreciate your truthful reply. Happy New Year and Take Care.

Hello again... It was good to have you drop by my site and respond and I decided to show my appreciation by landing here. You have some topics that are of interest to me and this one on Mylot is a good one in my view. The short response to the question you posed about posting on Mylot and earning something for it is this...from my 'perspective' I view what I receive as a nice little perk for doing something that I enjoy doing anyway. When a friend encouraged me to set up a site here I was reticent. I could not fathom why I would want to talk to people I didn't know. It didn't take me long to figure out that this is a wonderful community of (by and large) caring, compassionate, intelligent, thoughtful people. Knowing how many members there are who are doing their part to make the world a warmer, friendlier place has added something to my life. With all the negative reports about people, the planet and everything on it going to hell in a hand basket I find the exchanges on Mylot a refreshing change. Do I think the exchanges create a false sense of friendship...absolutely not! Again...only my experience...but I have established a few really good on-line friends who have since become more than that. I have spoken on the phone to three women and we are fostering friendships that are genuine, open and based on mutual trust and respect. There are four other women from India that I exchanged private e-mails with and I value the way things are developing there. So does one have to be cautious and discerning...of course...but people reveal themselves when you talk to them consistently over time. As a group leader, journalist and life coach my 'cr#p detector' is a finely tuned instrument and I find those who have different agendas reveal themselves fairly quickly. The fact that Mylot allows 'users to report abusers' goes a long way to removing unwanted influences most of the time. Those who share personal life issues...in my view they are reaching out to what they believe are sincere people. I know from the seven months...almost eight now that I have been here that there are many sincere people on this site. For some the care and compassion they receive from concerned members can and does make a real difference in their lives. Many do not have the means to go to a counselor and receiving, hope, care and compassion for ANYONE can help the healing process...so I think there is value in whatever way people can get in touch with their thoughts and feelings...even if it does seem hard for others to understand this medium as a way of doing it. Do some people say anything just for the money? Sure they do. I see new users doing quick one line discussions and responses without a lot of thought and consideration...to me that is usually a sign that they are here for the 'cha-ching' rather than respectful, meaningful dialog. However, the regulars who put effort into their sites and show up regularly to exchange ideas, thoughts and emotions with trusted, valued on-line friends...they are the reason I keep coming back. I read it someone and I'll leave you with how I view Mylot and the members here. It is..."I love my computer...because that is where my on-line pals live!" So there you go...just my perspective...but that is what I think about Mylot and the earnings. Love being pad a little to be here doing what I love to do...sharing ideas, making great connections and feeling the world is a warmer, friendlier place because of it. Cheers and happy Mylotting, Raia

Hi Perspectives, Thank you for the response. It is well thought and enlightening. I like how you were open with what you do and how Mylot fits into your life. Wow, you seem to have made some "real" connections, phone calls? I would say that possible meetings of your best Mylot friends are possibly in your future. I hope you continue to enjoy Mylot; I will look forward to hear more from you and your Perspectives he he he. Take Care.
