Is it true that men are more prone to color blindness? Anyone of you color blind? Can this be prevented or is permanent?

Color blindness is definitly permanent. It can not be corrected. You are born with it. Color blind means everything is in shades of greys and blacks and whites. I know several people that are color blind. And the funny thing is they are all men. So I think you are right in your assestment that they are usually males.

Color blindness is a gene that is more dominant in males than in females. My uncles is color blind. He can not see red or blue. It all looks purple. My sister dated a man who was also red/blue color blind and everything red or blue was a dark shade of purple according to him. Some women are color blind, but for the most part, it is a male trait. Just as is allergies to pet dander. More men are allergic than women. It's a dominant gene for men as well.
