Good Jack Or Bad Jack?

Which Jack Nicholson roles do you like most?Do you like when he plays the guff guy with the heart of gold, like The Bucket List? Or do you prefer when he is evil like in The Departed?The great thing about Jack is he has played many roles and there are many to choose from. prefer his role in The Departed and when he played The Joker. He seems to bring fun to his villains.But then again I prefer action and suspense films over the " feel good" films. How about you?

I really enjoyed him in "About Schmidt", and didn't much care for "The Departed". So I'd have to say, the guff guy with the heart of gold (great description, btw).
However, he gave a truly great performance in 'The Shining'. I guess you could call that a villain role, though he didn't bring much fun to it. 8^D

Thank you. In the Shinning I think Jack was the "hero" of the film.

To be honest, I dont like either Jack. I am quit embarrased to admit this but since almost everybody knows this, I guess it wont kill me to let some more people know. I am afraid of Jack Nicholson. LOL. He scares me, I think it is he ebrows or his grin. I dont know what it is, but I can not watch a movie with him in, because he truley scares me. There have been so many movies I wanted to see, but if they are suppose to be funny, They kinda of scare me. LOL, but I can actually sit through one of his movies, I dont want you to think I cant, because I really liked Departed and the movie that he was in with Adam Sandler. I also Like him as the JOker and in the Shining. But he stills scares me, just not as much as he once did. Probably because I am older! Sorry for the rambling on about how he scares me LOL

Don't be embarrassed about being scared.I saw only a few parts of The Shinning and Jack scared me in that role.But at least you saw The Departed and Anger Management. If Jack scared me, I wouldn't seen Any of his films.Thanks for responding. Take care.

I've liked him in so many roles both good and bad. His role in The Shining and the one in the Batman movie as the Joker. Some I haven't seen yet but he is a very talented actor. I love watching him whether he's scaring the cr*p out of me or making me sob.

I like both, but one of my favorite performances is in The Shining. He was excellent in that. He did very well considering his costar was not good.
I don't think I've ever seen a performance of his that I didn't like.

I have to admit I like him quite a bit better when he's the bad Jack, although thinking back he was really good in Terms of Endearment and it looks like he does a fantastic job in The Bucket List. He just has that "look" when he plays someone totally evil, you know?
