Has anyone here tried a detox diet? There was an article in a magazine I bought yesterday about a 3 day detox diet. It says you can lose 7 - 9 pounds in 3 days. I was thinking about trying it, but I wanted to get some opinions first.

I was watching the biggest looser last night and one of the tips that they said was about detoxing your body. They said to flush your body with water is the best way to detox it. You can still eat healthy during this time, but drink 8-10 glasses of water daily and it will do all the detoxing you need.

I totally forgot that the new season of Biggest Loser started already. My main problem is that I don't drink enough water.

I don't drink alot of water either. That is my problem too. I have alway wanted to do a detox, tried one once and it was so gross that I couldn't stand it. Can you give me the amounts of what you are suppose to do for your detox? I tried one with lemon juice, maple syrup and cayanne pepper...it was so gross I couldn't stomach it! I could do one with different juices though.

That sounds interesting. I think I'd like to check into it too. I'm responding to this directly from my e-mail so I'll have to wait and see what other replies you got! Annie

I tried out this detox diet. Probably not the same kind but same idea. I was a bit nervous about trying it because I have done other "pill diet" things and got BAD diarrhea. Can't be two feet from the toilet bad. Not funny painful stuff. But I thought I would give it a go. I followed all the instructions and I was constipated bad. I mean real bad. Can't bend over, have 20 pounds of blockage bad. I wouldn't do it again. If it weight you want to lose I found just eating right and being active works the best. I lost 60 pounds that way and have kept it off for over a year. If you feel you need a cleansing then I would eat more items with antioxidants like berries. Glad to be back! Vicki

It depends on what type of detox diet you do. I would say a detox with just fruit and veggies is bad and you will put the weight straight back on after but if you do a detox where you eat just certain foods like fish, veggies, fruit, rice and lots of green tea and water and cut out red meat, bread, pasta, fast food, caffeine etc. you will clean out your system which means that you will continue to lose weight when you come off it because you body will be able to process the food more efficiently. The key is lots of water and lots of green tea. you can also get a product called 4321 slim and detox which I find really helpful too!
