I don't know whether you have watched Dead Calm but, I will explain briefly. Dead Calm is a film about a psycho who gets friendly with this couple and ends up trapping the husband in a sinking boat and gets on board the boat with the wife. He tries to kill the wife. My question to you is: What would you do if you were trapped with a psycho killer would you kill them or risk your own life?
I don't know what I would do myself it is difficult and that's why I ask because I am a Christian its against my beliefs to kill anyone, but then if I were in that situation would God understand my reasons? Or would I just have to sacrifice my life for a murderer? I really don't know what the answer is and I hope that I never have to find out, but it would be interesting to see what others think about this and how you would react?

i haven't watch the movie yet... but it sounds to me like a good movie... i wouldn't say that defending myself as murder... when the time comes for me to choose between getiing killed or killed someone, i would definitely know what i will choose... of course if i have the options to escape, i will try to flee without having to commit murder... and i think God will understand and forgive me if i have to commit a murder to defend myself... God Bless you...

Excellent movie! I would have no qualms about killing him in that situation. I'm sure God would understand.

I saw that film years ago. It's a good one, I really enjoyed it. As for your question I would kill him the first chance I got. If it was me or him I would do whatever it took to make sure it was me that survived. I would do the same in any situation where I felt either myself or my families life was in danger.
By the way I'm not a Christian (nor do I follow any other religion) but it's also against my beliefs to kill anyone! However, if it comes down to kill or be killed I know what I would do.

Thanks you are right it is a matter of standing up for yourself as for myself I would probably freeze, but then maybe I would fight. Its the old Flight or Fight situation. Not an easy question to answer and I would wish that nobody finds themself in that situation, but the thought of what you would do is a good thing to think about and when you watch a film like that it does make you think about what you would do if you were in that situation.

I haven't seen this movie yet but it does sound good.
I don't know if I could actually kill someone since I've never been in that situation but I'd think if it was to a point of either him or me, I'd do what had to be done and then pray that God would understand.

sorry, i thought u wanted responses from people who had actually seen this film, as a non viewer of it but just based on the question, i would have to say that if it came down to his life or mine then i would have to save myself im afraid.
I am not religous but i think that even "god" would understand your reasons for saving your own life against that of a psycho killer.
But then again, im sure that if (and i hope no one ever is) you were in that situation then there would be an awful lot of other thoughts running through your mind, such as family friends and loved ones, and if the choice were to sacrifice yourself to a murderer then it wouldnt just be your life ended it would also end those loved ones lives to an extent!!

Thanks so much I hope I didn't offend you when I said about your answer thanks for returning and taking the time to answer this question it is important for me to see how people answer this.
Your answer was well thought out and touched on some of the things my husband said about not letting a murderer take him away from his family. I couldn't cope without my husband my life would end and so would my daughters. Thanks for your answer.
