this neighbour next door insists on putting her rubbish bins on our property under our bedroom window,it also blocks access to our powerbox.she is not the most approachable person and i do not want to cause trouble as we are renting.her property is large and she has plenty of room to place her bins on her own property.i spoke to the local council and they say they can not get involved.the real estate agent is away until next week.what should i do.thanks sue

Only problem with that idea adoniah is that what if she gets CAUGHT then she could charge her with trespassing, which is what the landlord where your renting could do if she persists after you talk to him :)
O adoniah, I would think of something like that too though. REVENGE IS SWEET. :) but sometimes not very practical unfortunitly.

Hi friend, first of all you must be patient about this situation.i know its give pressure and despise for you.you must wait for the action by the real estate agent until they decide the desicion.

Well that is a tough one Sue. If it was me and she seemed unapproachable I would take the rubbish bins inside or put them behind my fence or something so she had to come to me.Then when she did I would explain politely that they were sending a smell into my bedroom and that they were blocking my powerbox so I moved them off my property, or better yet why not just move them onto her property, perhaps if you kept doing that but setting them up nicely , she would get the message or maybe even tape a note on them as to why you moved them off of the property that you live on. Then if all else failed I would contact the real estate agent. Good luck and happy new year to you.

hi citygiirl i have allready moved them and placed them neatly on her propety this morning.i thought about writing a note and sticking it on her bin explaining why i moved them, but i decided that i will see what happens first and if she moves them again i will.i wish i had the guts to hide them, but i don't want to cause any problems.fingers crossed.cheers sue

Couldnt you talk to the land lord of the place that you are renting from, and ask them to talk to her as you dont want to cause problems for yourself, he is the next likely canadate for getting your problem fixed. If your in a cold climate, at least its winter and the stench isn't OOZING in through your window yet.. Or if your in a warm climate and your windows are open, I"M SOO SORRY. :( The smell of garbage is sick.

yes i will have to wait until the real estate office to re-open after the holidays, and get them to contact the landlord.unfortunately it is summer here and very warm.she ahs now added old pots to the list of garbage which if i wanted to get to our powerbox.it would be impossible to even change a fuse
cheers sue

there must be a reason...maybe if you see her casually ask her if she needs help moving the bins since she always places them there...maybe she would realize its inconsiderate, or maybe she can't put them anywhere else...that could open a big can of worms though!
you'll have to let us know the outcome!

i don't know the reason vera ,she has loads of places to put them as she has a large property.my son has just run around the side and knocked himself out on the power box because her bins are in the way ,he was too busy trying to get around them and went head first in the box, this may be my opportunity to say something to her.i just can not understand people like this.cheers sue

first and foremost talk to her about this situation... but remember to be calm and cool about it... dont understand why the local council will not get involved isnt that what they are suppose to do... she is using your property to put her bins and it is your property you do have rights...

i do not know why the council won't say anything at all ,they were most unhelpful, they just did not want to get involved.i only rang them to get advice about if she has any rightds to place them there.i would never be so rude to do it to someone.thanks sue

the trouble is she is not approachable.she growled at the kids the other day when they were looking for their football.my daughter asked politely and she went off at her.i think i will just wait till the real estate agents return and go with her.cheers sue
