She is a mother...

Her lavender hair covers me in golden morning sun She comes with the flavor of darjeeling tea I grasp her tight, I am still in dreams She pats me gently on my back, I know she is curious. I haste through my shower, it's terribly cold, the water is colder I get a shiver on my spine, the water is frosty and cutting She tinkles to make sure the hot water flowing all right I sneak out half done with my job, as always. She forces my savory lunch into my carrier unstruggling I rush out to the traffic outside, devalued, delayed by minutes Her face grilled, curious and concerned Yet wearing the most adorable smile. It stays with me all through the day Through the bleakness, through the sun Through the falsities of the big bad world The smile is but a magic wand, troubleshooting the unpleasantness. I come back to the tranquil lap, she soothes me of all that do not matter. She never retires, she is there always, no time out for her She is my mom, she is our mother She is a mother. Just wanted to share this tribute with you all. Thanks.

I second that thought, mithra. William is a great human and that shows in each of his posts.

Splendid! Marvellous! Outstanding! I never knew that you can pen poems too. It is your hidden positive trait, which you must explore to the fullest so that you could become a more accomplished poetess. I think, there ar some sites too, which encourages poem writing...like writing blogs...you can check those sites. Writing about mother and paying tribute to her is really appreciable and praiseworthy. I think, our mothers are all alike, they way you have described...my mother would also do the same thing to me (it is another thing that now a days, she stays with my brother). But when she was with us...she would take care of me...irrespective of the fact...that I got married..her love and affection for me never diminished...it is even same and perhaps more for me...when she stays away from me.

Thanks hun. You know what, my mom and I share a very subtle kinda relationship. I do not remember the last time I said that I love her and stuffs like that. She hardly says that as well. But our gesture and thoughtfulness play the speaking part. I was thinking to show this to her, she would be very happy, no doubt. Now, that you feel that as well, I must. I am planning to keep my monitor screen open for her to look through it in my absence. Thanks dear.

i wish i got a little poet on my blood but too bad i dont have any. i envy you guys for those poems.. but i made a letter for my mom before and it goes like these: Dear MOM: You once told me that your not an ordinary mom and i agree with you. Of course you are not a traditional mother in other words you are not a dull stereotyped but and exceptional one of a kind mom! How could i say your ordinary? Might i remind you for all the things you have done for us. You are more than a mother, you are our father too, who discipline and guide us. Do you remember when kuya jessie and i were brawling then tried to stop us but as expected we ignore you and continue to strangle each other. So you gracefuly handed us two sharped-edge knives and yold us to stab each other.Right there and then we stopped. We stood there stunned, unable to move except to blink our eyes. You got our full attention and we forgot we were fighting.
