Will you reply new member's greetings?

Many new members send out a greeting message when they enter a new website club. Just like a new subscriber in chatting room, the posted message is very simple, such as "I am new" or "I am here, everyone". To these greetings, will you reply them or just ignore it?

I usually will in a small private forum as people there learn about each other really quickly as there are few participants and a lot of interaction. It does not work this way on mylot. Chit chat is actually discouraged here. Many people claims to make friends here... but if they do... it is through private messaging... because you won't find much of it in discussions.

Private messages are indeed better for discussion among close friends. As stayed here only 3days till now, I have no idea about the website and wonder how the new members make friends on Mylot since there is no real-time exchange platform here. Now I know that Mylot is a discussion place gathering all questions, feelings and ideas, etc. from her members.

The way you make friends here is by answering questions. When they really like your answer... they add you as their friend... and mylot ask you if you are willing to be their friend... you get the choice to accept them... or not. The more questions you answer... the more friends you get... as long as they like your answer.

Hello dear FH. When I read a new post about greetings by a newbie, I would greet him or her whether the greeting is short or long, which doesn't matter to me. I love to welcome newbies here at mylot and would be very happy to read and respond to their discussions, which help us know more of each other after reading and responding to the discussions between each other to enhance the friendship and understanding betwee both parties. Thanks and welcome to mylot as a newbie. Happy posting.

If I happen across a new member I'll say hello, but I don't go looking for new members, or old members for that matter. I tend to look for topics that interest me and talk to whoever is there.

I often do this when I am at a chatting room and have time to write a welcome message. Meanwhile some forums sepcially open a place for new member's greetings and introduction, I sometimes response if I consider their contents are good or funny. I don't find this sitation on Mylot. Seems there is only qestions, answers and feelings posted here, that means all new members have to spend a lot of time, energy and mood, etc. to read, write and ponder the discussions if they want to stand here, make friends and extra earnings...

Hi fang, is it okay for me to call you Fang for short? I 1st wanted to say to you thank you for excepting me as a new friend of yours and that I have just read all of your discussion messages a nd wanted to respond to them... as anew mwember to the chat world I have to say that I am very glad that you took the time to respond with such detail about my concern, however I can also understand why you would question if responding to new people would be a good or bad thing and to be honest, I have never done so... but, I can also say that I never would. I guess I would have to say be careful ths is a crazy world that we live in and you just never know. By the way I will be changing my profile soon but I will let you know as a new friend what new name i decide to use. I think it would be nice to meet your new, well year old neighbor but considering that it took as long as it has, decpite how many of hours you put in each day to actualy see him let alone speek to one another I think you shouldn't go over to his house. He might be one of the many people in this world who prefers to be left alone. signed your new friend Tolita... soon to be... i'll let you know.
