How long is a standard Naval rope?

The standard length of a naval rope is 1,000 ft. Of course once it is onboard it is called a line. Shalom~Adoniah

If you look it up in the British Naval Guide it is 1000ft. I looked it up. In the US, there is no standard length, so I had to go in search of what you wanted!

Interesting, perhaps then there is a difference in natural and artificial ropes. The only place still making natural fibred naval ropes uses a building 1000' long, thus the ropes start of 1000' before they are wound but after winding have reduced in length. all the best urban
