http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/01/health/01well.html?no_interstitial I haven't been the most clutter free person in the family. I would clean and organize some things daily, but the rest I wouldn't bother to touch until year end or probably time for garage sale. Still I find house free of clutters, or at least I don't see as much clutters, somehow puts my mind at ease. I can easily find what I need, or even see it just where I am looking, I don't need to be careful when I walk or what I touch. I like this article, it's very true in my case. I'm not overweight but definitely not feeling so much stress after all the clutters disappear from my sight. What about you?

2 months that's good timing to reorganize. I don't know if I could do that often

This is a excellent article. I am very keen on clutter clearing. I went on a course about it a few years ago and since then I have bought a few books about it. The first thing I did was buy a filing cabinet and sort out my paperwork. I bought albums for my photos and put these holding all travel photos on my book shelf. I hold much emotional clutter up my loft. I want to go up there and sort out some things to throw out, sell or recycle. In August 2006 I became pregnant and so my clothing size changed. I am back to my normal size now. So I would like to sort out my clothing. I have so many things for my little baby boy. So I guess he is adding to all the clutter in my home. I will keep trying hard with my clutter clearing.

Exercise like walking and having a diet that includes much fruit and vegetables helps.

sounds like good resolution. I'm just too lazy to make it another resolution on top of the ones I already have for this year

Hello dear LittleMel. We have a small room for those clutters on the first floor, which we can store-room. The clutters are stored there for half a year before there are enough to get them sold for some small money. By the way, the clutters are all that can be recycled.

I used to be in the house cleaning business and I had a client that said to me, if my house is clean and in order so is my life. She liked her house with no clutter and clean. She had me clean once a week and I also had to keep things uncluttered. Twice a year she would go through things with me and we would get rid of anything she never used in the last 6 months. She would say if she never used it in 6 months she didn't need it.

she could be right. I tend to keep them a year or more just because I don't feel like throwing money away

We have a small house and I do not like to throw things away. I have thrown things away and things have been thrown away by my husband and found later that it was something we needed. What I need is someplace so that I do not have to bend down or lifted a lid to get at it. We have an unfinished basement but a lot of things are in drawers because where are we going to put everything. My stress comes from people yelling at me, not from the house being cluttered.

oh yes I threw out a small metal piece that supposed to be a part of the lid for the sink, now we have to get a new one :) I don't know how I don't remember about that lid

thats a good article. while i am not a hoarder, i find it difficult to keep the house clean. i work part time and suffer from health issues that leave me quite tired. fortunately my kids are good at cleaning (if i bug them) and my h ubby will pitch in (he does all the cooking!) i really like baskets for organizing too!

yes aren't they very useful? you can use them for storage and to add accents to the room
