Your credit report online - how concerned are you?

I see and hear so often about getting your credit report online. Always a company or offer to get your credit report online. You r credit cards can get it for you. With all the scammers, hackers and ID theft and such going on, why would anyone choose to get their credit report - their very life - over the internet? IT is now out there in cyber space for possibly anyone to see. How safe is getting your credit report online? Or maybe I should ask, how un-safe is getting your credit report online? Seems like this theft ID frinzy popped up just about the same time the push for online credit reports and viewing them regularly came about. Any comments?

My point exactly. You just don't know who to trust. SO might as well must go to the source itself!

Have you heard of Lifelock? They have a solution for thi8s. Unlike the promises of those on the other side, it is not free, but this sort of things seems to have become a necessity in this day and age.

I just saw a commercial for that. I'd still just rather request a report from the agencies. IF you apply for a credit card and get turned down, send them that letter and they will send you your credit report for free. Otherwisei t is only $8. Worth it to me to keep it off the internet!
