What diet has worked the best for you?

I am not really for diets for the long term but see them as a way to jumpstart my way to better eating habits. Once I go on a diet I usually get so sick of what I'm allowed to eat that afterward I will gladly eat foods that I know are healthy, but a nice variety of them rather than the limited menu that a lot of diets afford you. Anyway, I would love to hear all of your experiences with diets, the good, the bad and the ugly. I'll be waiting........
