I am done buying cheap things at Walmart etc. I had bought a snow shovel there last year for under $10. Well that's exactly what I paid for wqas a $10 shovel. HAHAHAHA!! It was plastic with a steel edge on the blade for help in removing ice etc. yeah right. Well the shovel now clears a path about 2 inches wide due to the plastic getting bent out of shape. So I finally splurged buying a good steel bladed shovel at Home Depot. Granted it was over $20 but it will last a longer time and not bend as the cheap plastic ones do. Now the thing was I searched many stores for a couple weeks for this type of shovel. Being as it had just recently snowed the stores were mostly sold out. Now do you wait to buy things that are weather related like this till the last minute? Or do you buy it before the snow arrives? I always seem to wait till it's almost too late. HAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I bought one to replace my old one last year after a big storm in Feb. I was gone for the weekend and old faithful was sitting by the back door and when I got home it wasn't there. So I also bought mine at Home Depot and paid a pretty penny for it. But it's a good shovel....this spring when the snow started melting Old Faithful showed up again. He had tipped over in the storm and got covered up. Now I have two good shovels.

For many years my wife & I were caretakers/managers of a few differnt buildings as well. One was a huge complex with 3 resident managers. We took care of 110 apartments. There was a lot of sidewalks to shovel there. At least the parking lot snow removal was contracted out. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

HaHaHa....as long as it will chip away at the humungus glacier headed your way, you will make out fine. So actually, you paid over $30 for a $20 shovel...lol. If you would have bought it in July, it was probably tagged 50% off..lol. Did you ever work for the government? You use the same kind of math that they do..lol.

When it comes to high dollar items or things that your going to use alot your farther ahead to buy them at a better store. I've bought alot of things from Walmart and had them break quickly or even break before I get home. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Knowing I will be needing something later in the year I try to buy it when on sale pre season or out of season. I think it is human nature to wait till the last minute.

We do not get a lot of snow here so we do not have to worry about that too much. My husband and I are going grocery shopping today and cleaning in preparation for my chemo treatment. We want to make sure everything is in place to make things easier on the both of us. So we try to get things done ahead of time.

I've always said you get what you pay for but I have to admit there are occasions when cheaper works just fine - not when it comes to a snow shovel though and with all the snow we've had a good one was needed. Of course the drive is finally cleared and I actually ventured out the day before yesterday (first time in a week) but now weather man is predicting a warm front and it's all going to melt - hummm I should have just waited a few more days.

Whenever something happens i always try to get myself to prepare for the next time it's going to happen. But unforutnately i usually forget it the next day :P. So no matter how determined i am, i always manage to struggle with last minute shopping. :(
