I love the Cane Corso because they are so unique. I have been fascinated with their beauty since I was a child, but as an adult I learned more and more about the breed and my love grew. Being an avid dog lover, the first words I could read were all the breeds registerable by the AKC. I love several breeds for lots of different reasons, but this is why I'm a big fan of the corso. The Cane Corso (pronounced "KHAN-Y Corso) is extremely intelligent, very attentive, loyal to the death, highly trainable, noble in stature, and beautiful to look at. My only fear though is that this breed does not grow heavily in popularity. With i'ts intimidating looks, and natural watch dog abilities It could be attractive to the wrong kind of dog owner. Backyard breeding is a whole other topic. The breeders I know who import dogs, and are very very selective upon whom they sell to, care only for maintaining and bettering the breeds health temperment and soundness. There are several great websites to look up wonderfull information on the Corso. The CCAA(Cane Corso Association of America) is great, it has the breeds through description, and correct confirmation. If considering the Cane Corso please do some heaving reading on the breed. They are not for everyone. They require early socilization, obedience training, good quality diet, lots of room for exercise, or suffient exercise daily, and of course human contact and companionship.
