According to your description, I do not think this animal would have survived. Your intervention saved this animal from further suffering. You did the right thing. If only the tail was twitching, its back was probably broken, and no vet would have been able to save it. Luckily you had the guts to do what needed doing, and I salute you for that.

it had nothing to do with guts i just cant stand to see anyone suffer if the animal were not in such bad shape i would of gladly taken it to the vet and paid the bill for it

when we cannot give a life to somebody we dont have any right to kill anyone. It would have been better if you would have approached some veterinary clinic or any pet care institute and informed them, so that timely treatment could have been given.

I disagree Kunwar123. I think the animal would have been grateful to be out of pain. Hell if I was in that sort of state I'd hope someone would come and end my suffering!

I think what you did shows that you are a very caring person and the fact that your husband buried the animal too, shows that he is also caring. Please don't feel bad, I think you did the right thing.

I would have called the responsibe authorities to come and remove the animal. They would know better than I what to do for the hurt animal. You did what you can live with, sometimes that is all we've got to go on.
