The question everyone is asking - Zune or iPod?

OK, so I currently own a 30GB iPod video. I have been thinking a lot about possibly switching to a Zune but cannot decide. I have heard from many different sources that the Zune is not good at all and the iPod is where more advanced but have also heard that the Zune is much better. Thoughts? I'm not sure where I'd like to go with this.

Nah...I won't trust the Zune.... iPod is much better ....well, iTouch and iPhone are much better than Zune... Zune is just over-rated in my opinion

I'm liking the look of the Zune80. A friend of mine just bought one and he let me play around with it today. I don't know what I plan on doing yet but I did like the look of it, he even had his name laser etched into the back of it with a real cool design. I thought it was pretty nifty. Plus, you can get an extra 50 GBs of storage for $50 less than the iPod. When I bought my iPod it was $300 plus accessories and the Zune80 with way more storage is only $250 and can be found cheaper in some places.

if you only compare pice Zune with ipod, it's the preference of course. you also compare other sides especially stereo sound effect :)

depending on when you bought your ipod, the amount of storage keeps going up without and increase in price.

My husband has a zune and I have an iPod. I LOVE MY IPOD. I think his zune sucks! haha. I guess it's pretty cool that you can put movies on it, but for music it's much larger than an iPod and sort of inconvenient. If you are thinking of buying the Zune Marketplace pass, don't! It sucks! We hate the zune software. It significantly slows down our computers and not ALL songs are free. Stick with your iPod!

You seem to have a good view on the two. But what kind of Zune does he have? Does he have one of the new Zune80s?

Yeah, I think that's what I am going to do for now. I'll stick to my iPod and just watch the companies battle it out until I find a real deciding factor.

In my opinion, they're both overpriced and overrated. I have a SanDisk Connections and I have no problems with it. It plays songs and videos, and even connects to Yahoo! Music and Yahoo internet radio through WiFi.

I've seen you're already made your mind, the thing with zune is that the first versions were pretty bad and got a deserved bad rap as you can see in previous posts. There is thou a new version just released that is being acclaimed by the experts. Not sure about the site and the rights management that were complicated at beginning. And let's be frank Apple has not being doing anything new for a while, so ...

My iPod will be 3 years old in May. I love it, it is still going fine, never a problem. I would not go to a zune, they did it to compete with Apple, not to create a better product then the iPod. People are buying iPods and then buying Apple Computers, especially once they get to see Apple support. MS realized they were losing to Apple and wanted to stop the leak. Apple is now the only computer manufacturer that is growing in today's market...and we not ever have to worry about Vista or XP.

I don't know, I might wait and let the two companies battle it out and just see what happens later on.

Hmmm...I really only use my Zune for watching movies, and its been great for that. It's basically a wide screen iPod. If you're more after music, then iPod is unbeatable, it has the BEST music program and support.
