Its been weeks now that I have been suffering from this morning sickness. Usually I feel sick whenever I am hungry. I can't bear lot of smell these days. Infact, I've asked my hubby to smoke outside my room. I don't know how long I'll suffer from this feeling of heartburn and nausea since its my first pregnancy. Its really tough going through all this. My hubby too is worried. He says if he would have known how painful becoming pregnant could be then he would have better adopted a child. Please share your experiences if you have gone through all this during your pregnancy. May be I can feel bit better that way.

I had bad morning sickness during months 2,3 and 4 with all four of my children. Smells affected me terribly too. I wouldn't let anyone smoke around me once I got pregnant because the smoke is very unhealthy for the baby. He shouldn't even smoke in the house now that you are pregnant, smoking in another room is not going to keep the toxins from you and the baby. Fast food smells are what made me ill with pregnancy. The smell of grease...ugh!

I'm thankful that I've never had morning sickness. But I've heard from others that it can vary. Some women have morning sickness for only a short time, while others have it throughout their pregnancy. Hopefully, it won't last that long for you. How far along are you? Before I forget I want to say congratulations on your pregnancy! Take it easy and rest up as much as you can. :)

I am on my fourth pregnancy and it has been my experience that with each child my morning sickness has lessened... though that's not true with everyone. Don't let yourself get overly hungry, eat several small meals or snacks instead of large meals. Try to eat bland foods. I found that white rice and peanut butter sandwiches worked well for me. Also avoid strong odors (it's a good idea for your husband to start smoking outside for the health of your unborn child and for now on as a matter-of-fact). I've also found that sucking on peppermints works. I've heard people say that ginger works too, though check with your doctor first, mine advised against it. Get lots of sleep too! Good luck and in the end the baby is always worth the morning/all day sickness!

I have five kids and seven pregnancies. I was only sick with two and it wasn't just in the morning. I was sick 24/7 for at least 4 months. The only thing that helped for me was flat soda and saltines. I would buy a two liter bottle of coke and leave it out an opened for a few days. It settled my stomach. Other than that, when you wake up in the morning, sit up slowly. Pregnancy seems to knock out the equalibriam which can add to the nausea. Ginger tea can help, but i don't recommend ginger until at least the 6th week of pregnancy. If you get to the point where you can't keep anything down, as I did with my third pregnancy, talk to your doctor. He/she might want to give you medication. Above all else, the fetus need nurishment to grow and if you cna't keep anything down, it's not a good situation. Good luck to you. It might seem like hell now, but it will be worth it.

Welcome to the Mommy club! Im sorry to hear you are having a rough first time. Make sure to snack more frequently in the day...on healthy stuff..LOL...I will tell you from experience that pregnancy weight doesn not come off easliy if you over do it. I drank ginger ale which I normally hate during my pregnancy because I got morning sickness soo much. Also you might want to ask your doc to check your glucose levels you might be hypoglycemic...which means you need to make sure you eat more because if not you feel sick and can pass out...LOL...another experience I had also. If you want a home remedy thats quick and efficient...use one tbls cider vinegar to 4 oz water and drink it...gross but it does help. As for the smells.....there isnt really anything you can do about that...And you should make sure your hubby smokes outside now that you are expecting...the smoke smell sticks to everything even brand new baby stuff....I am a smoker, but dont smoke inside or around my children...Its amazing how being a Mom will change you. My husband hated that I booted him outside, but he totally agrees with it now and doesnt complain. I will say that it usually get a lot better during your second and third trimester...You wont be as sleepy and hopefully the morning sickness goes away by then...or at least slows down. You will ahve the pregnancy "glow" as everyone calls it and be a lot happier. Also if you are taking your prenatal vitamins and then wretching you might think about having your doctor change you to something different. My second pregnancy I had to chew flinstones kids vitamins because all the prenatals made me sick..I wish you much luck and it will get better I promise! :)

I had one child, I started with the morning sickness early June, ended up in the hospital with it about 2 weeks later and continued with it until the end of November. But don't worry, it will end and in the end, it will all be forgotten and you will have a wonderful little baby.
