Why not? actually i have one before and they are pretty cool to play with. Snakes are much better pets than dogs or cats. Can you imagine a dog or cat in a backpack, you cannot do it but snake in a backpack is nice, imagine when a security guard inspect your backpack and you've got snake what do think will happen....lol....

i currently own 4 snakes and will be adding a fifth snake in a few days. they make great pets and are easy to care for. but i guess you have to like snakes to want one as a pet. many people are affraid of them so to those people they would clearly not make a good pet.

I was very set on getting a corn snake as a pet when I was a bit younger. Snakes fascinate me, and I would love to be able to study one up close. It would also be a challenge to care for it properly, and make it trust me as it's owner. I still haven't given up the thought of having a snake as a pet, maybe I will get one in the future.

Actually, my brother and I both had speckled king snakes when we were young. I really don't mind snakes, if I know them, lol. I wasn't real happy when a snake got into the house several years ago. At first we couldn't tell what it was because of it's hiding place. Ended up just being a rat snake but I really didn't want it in the house and my husband hates snakes. This does remind me of a funny story though. Many years ago I worked at a local pet shop. They had a new shipment of young boas arrive. Snakes get ticks, just like other pets and humans. So when a new shipment arrived we had to take them out of the bag, one at a time, and check them for ticks. Well, my boss was sitting in front of me holding one of the snakes. I was kneeling in front of him looking for ticks and removing them. The bag was in the floor. All the sudden there was this head popping up between my knees and I jumped and fell backwards. It was just, surprise, here I am, lol. We all got a good laugh.

I am really scared of snakes. I find them creepy and sneaky. When I have this big problem, I usually had snakes in my dreams.
