He was waking in front of me…very slowly. I was thinking if he is able to walk at all. It looks for me like toddler walking with full diaper. Isn’t underwear to be wear UNDER not on top? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/30/fashion/30baggy.html?_r=1&oref=slogin I think it should be against the law. What do you think? Would you wear sagging pans?

I don't know if we can really make it illegal..though I would love to do that. I think it is one of the most ridiculous looks I have ever seen. I am sorry, dressing up in a clown suit is a better fashion statement. I think all schools should enforce some kind of a basic dress code, as well as employers. One other thing that really gets to me is the multiple piercings. I was in line one day at a Bourbon chicken, the cashier has 43 piercings on her face. She had those, I am not sure what they are called, but her ear lobes had these big round holes, about an inch or maybe more in diameter...I lost my appetite and left

No way! I mean, I don't wear tight stuff, I like my pants non-constricting:D But those things with the waist half a meter lower than where it should be... It looks wierd and I'm almost sure it's uncomfortable. People wear these jeans usually because they think that this way they set a mood, or prove something about themselves. That is certainly not the case...

As a woman I enjoy wearing more fitted clothing. I think this is pretty typical of women in general. We'd probably think it was so strange of we saw a young lady wearing ten-sizes-too-huge jeans down to her knees walking in heels. I believe what you're referring to (obviously) is a common problem among young (and unfortunately sometimes older) guys. I can't stand this "trend," to tell you the truth because as you said, underwear is supposed to be under things not worn bulging out above a saggy pair of jeans. If they need color added to their outfit, they should wear a colorful shirt, not colorful underwear! (LOL) Jeans that are made like this, in my opinion, are a waste of material. They're always too big, and the poor guy wearing them can't even walk right without having to pull them up every third step he takes. The saddest part is he chooses to do so. What a shame. I wish this was never "in style" to guys at all. What a turn off! Great discussion.

I hate those pants that hang down...it looks ridiculous and I can't figure out how they keep them from falling all the way down. I thought people would have stopped wearing them like that by now. It's against the rules of the dress code at the school where my husband teaches so they have to call home to get another outfit.

I think that you are right....its origin is from prison, inmates used to lower pants when they wanted to have s*x...

Yes, this is one disgusting fashion. I wish it would all just go away. I remember lecturing my son about it, I got so tired of it. Now the Navy straightened his butt out (pun intended) and he dresses much nicer. Girls wears thongs so there is no panty line, it appears they are not wearing underwear and guys wearing those pants insist on showing us theirs...we live in a strange culture.

It looks like only kids in America copy this trend, hard to see it in Europe....and I am not sure about Asia or Australia.

it does look ridiculous, even if the underwear is branded. There are many teens here wear those and I feel like donating food to them. Wearing bigger size makes them look like never eat anything in years. They probably think they look cool that way, I don't know why. A full bodied athletic man wearing thongs looks way better.

I cannot agree with you more - I have a brother and a boyfriend and never did they get even remotely attracted to wearing sagging jeans. It doesn't even look nice besides the fact that they don't seem to be comfortable... No, I would never wear sagging jeans - I am not much of a jeans person anyway.

You wouldn't catch me showing off my backside while walking in the store or eating in a restaraunt. I think it's stupid how these guys and ,sometimes even girls, are out walking around with their jeans almost to their knees. It should be outlawed!!

Hi there Polachicago, I do think it is a horrible fashion trend. It really is. There is nothing attractive about this in my opinion. Still, I don't think making it against the law is a good thing. I really don't care if these guys look good or not in my eyes. I really don't and why would I. Another woman may find them very attractive even though I think it is ugly. I don't think it is obscene really. Sure they show off their boxers but those boxers are not much different and maybe not any different than what some women wear out in public all the time. The are not much different than swim shorts which men wear and show less skin than a speedo which is legal and honestly...I find that more disgusting. They are not showing skin, after all. I don't understand what they find attractive about this style. It looks oh so uncomfortable but it isn't our place to judge. Leave the judging to the people hiring these kids but don't make it a law.

I'm not a big follower of fashion, especially when the particular fashion is uncomfortable or makes no sense. I've never worn big baggy jeans... I like mine skin tight, but I have been known to walk around with one pant leg rolled up and the other not, otherwise it gets caught in my bicycle spokes.

This would have to be one of the worst fashion trends ever. There is nothing attractive about it and the soones it disappears the better.

i hate that. always makes me want to walk up behind them grab the waist and YANK them suckers up while yelling PULL UP YOUR BRITCHES BOY! lmao! and to top the whole "look" off, they use a belt..to make sure that the pants stay safely at their lower hips..and even thighs. havent they ever been told that a belt is to keep your pants from going that far?! ive always wondered why their fathers havent taught them better, much less mothers!ive actually heard my grandmother berate a cousin for showing up at holiday family gathers with pants sagging like that! it was hilarious, he turned bright red cause she was going on about nobody wanting to see his a$$ and then try to eat!

I had someone tell me at my work a few months ago that he has trouble finding his size pants in his area. I asked him why? He says it's because of all those teenagers wearing pants much too big for them hanging off their rears. So he has to travel to places where the look isn't fashionable to find his size! I can't imagine one could drive w/ pants that long you wouldn't know if you were pushing on what pedal w/ all that jean underneath it. Probably a safety hazzard that way I'm sure.
