its said that everyone has a fear of at least one thing in life.. the list of phobias that are considered real phobias is massive.. some people fear heights or the dark, small spaces or even being outside.. my fear is of skunks.. to my knowledge there is no actual phobia for this but none the less i fear being sprayed by a skunk more than anything.. i see a skunk even at a distance and my heart starts to race, my adrenaline rises and i cant do anything but leave the situation as quickly as possible.. i cross streets even if cars are coming, im always cautious to walk around bushes at night etc.. i realize nobody wants to be sprayed by a skunk but its not something that grips most people with fear.. so whats your fear?!

I have a fear of heights and ladders. Ironic how I worked for almost a year climbing telephone poles 30-40 times a day. Never did get over the fear either. Proof that even if you face your fear it can still get the best of you.

I fear lots of things. I fear of heights, I always get nervous whenever I'm on the plane. I've always want to do bungy jumping to face my fear but still scared until today I fear of high speed, I 've ever gor a motorbike accident while speeding and that makes me trauma till now. I fear of snakes, Oh this one I fear a lot. I will scream as loud as I can if I see one. Hopefully never..

Good thing we don't have skunks here in the Philippines, I don't think that I would dare come see a skunk face to face or even watch it from afar!;) I think my only fear is being alone, feeling that I have no one else to turn to when I need a company or somebody to laugh with. They say that no man is an island, that I haven't known of anyone lived their life literally alone. As for phobias, I'm not sure but I do have a hard time in dealing with those gondolas. Being in the open on a high place, feeling like the wind swaying would push me on the ground..

living in a place with no skunks would be wonderful! haha.. i think being alone is something that is a fairly common fear.. people go to great lengths to ensure they dont end up alone

I am scared of heights, I dont know if its a fear or something else though. I just sort of loose all my senses if i were to look down even from a short distance up. If i can fall off of it it messes me up. I could be standing on a chair with both feet, and i will loose my balance, its like my body is like OOP down you go now! I am feared of small area's too. It used to be worse though. i can deal now. I used to have panic attacks in my old bathroom cause it was so small and inclosed. lol. I dunno why. Elevators i really dont like, they mess me up good. small space and heights. ESPECIALLY those glass ones!

sometimes being in a house alone can be nerve wrecking.. shadows can play games with a persons eyes and mind.. you hear more things that you arent used to hearing when theres someone around to make some sort of noise.. even the sounds water pipes make can be odd if you arent sure what it was

I fear dieing...I guess not so much dieing as wherever I might end up afterwards, lol...Being alone...I don't mean just being by myself awhile, but like if something were to happen and I suddenly had no friends or family...that sort of alone...And spiders! I hate spiders, I'll totally freak out if one is anywhere near me.

spiders are creepy lil buggers but they can be killed easily :D so long as its not a massive group of them that is.. stepping on the odd one here and there isnt so hard though! i actually let them live myself.. i like that they eat flies and other bugs that i dont like so i dont mind a couple here and there.. haha my wife always flushes them down the toilet lol

Spider - A simple shot of a spider...not sure exactly what kind..not that I really want to know.
I'd have to say my biggest fear is spiders. I'm only now able to even get close enough to squish them. Before I'd call someone to come over and get it..lol..yup..pretty bad I know. My other big fear is dying alone..not in the sense of being alone in the house having no one present, but in the sense of not having a someone special..being emotionally alone and unloved.

well congrats on being able to step on them! im sure your friends you used to call appreciate it also! haha dying alone would be no good ya ;/ best bet is to hope your kids are around still instead of just leaving you to rot in a nursing home.. being that you'd probably out live your husband as most wives do! *suspicious look on my face* haha :D

I have a fear of height but only if I am not in an enclosed location. I have no problem if I am in a tall building or in a cable car or sky cab or something that is enclosed. But if you ask me to climb a mountain or a tree, I would not have problem climbing but it would be almost impossible for me to get down. LOL!

as a kid i used to be a little monkey i was in trees so much.. i dont care much for standing on the edge of tall things though.. i like the enclosure also if i have to be up high

I do not like snakes becuz when I was about 7 or so, my aunt sent me to the edge of the woods to collect chicken eggs. (We had a hen who refused to nest inside the chicken yard; she preferred this hallow log near the back of our property next to the wood-line.) Any who, I put my hand inside and was frightened by a little black snake. Well, I ran home scared as could be and my aunt scolled me about not bringing any eggs. I cried a little and told her there was a snake wrapped around the eggs and I could not get to them. She scolded me more and told me I had to go back to the log and collect the eggs and that I couldn't return home until I did. Well. that was that. I walked slowly back to that dreaded spot and stopped short of it and tried to figure a way out of my imagined dire situation. I finally decided to get a stick and try to roll the eggs out and, at the same time, avoid the snake. Of course, I had already frightened the snake off before-hand. I did get about three eggs and took them back to my aunt. She was still scolding and accused me of not getting all the eggs from the nest. I hated it when this aunt came to visit, her little dog, Scotty was just as mean as she was. She was not nice to me when my mom wasn't around; my mother cried years and years later when she found out the truth about her sister. Well any who, that is why I don't like snakes to this day. Didn't care much for my aunt either. (sigh!)

No, it did not effect my desire to eat eggs. At that time I wasn't a big egg eatter. Since my kids have come along I eat eggs a lot more. As for my aunt, she ended up with cancer all through her body and I had to go sit with her while she was dying. She let me know that she knew I did not care to be around her because of how she had treated me but she never came right out and said she was sorry. She did express appreciation for me attending to her when she could not care for herself. I do not hate her but I think I would probably avoid her if I ran into her in the hereafter. She was not nice to me, but that is on her, I was just a child and was helpless to do anything to change her behavior. May God forgive us for the wrong we do.

well its nice you could be the better person after years of her ways and still make sure she wasnt alone in the end.. perhaps she was too proud a person to actually say the words sorry? people of past generations are like that it seems.. appreciation and thanks are good while greif and apology are bad.. more seen in women i guess where they were used to being molly maids and in the background..

well thats a pretty good reason to fear snakes and hate your aunt i guess haha.. do you eat eggs? or do you not like them anymore either? just curious :)

I fear accidents not on roads but in air. It is perhaps because I fall down from hight of about 30 feet when I was a child. Even after almost 25 years, I do remember what had happened to me at that time. Even now I do wake up from fast asleep fearing that I am falling. I do not fear flying in the plane. When required, I have travelled by air also but it is in my subconcious mind that I am unable to throw out.

I'm terrified of spiders... They're just creepy. I also have an irrational fear of miniature people. Not like dwarfs and midgets... Like Army of Darkness or Puppet Master little. I know it doesn't even exhist but it bothers me. I also can't sleep with the window blinds or closet doors open, and I check under my bed at least twice before getting into bed.

Phobias? I have the very fear of heights and of supernatural beings like ghosts. Of course, I'm afraid of wild animals too, but I'm not afraid of wild dogs and cats. :)

I, too, am afraid of dying alone. However, it's a fear I can mostly push to the back of my mind. It's not an unreasoning fear. I have one unreasoning fear, which I've had since I was a child. I'm afraid of being trapped in a car that has gone into the water for some reason, and drowning there. I even have one of those safety hammers designed to break out car windows in my car just for this! Silly, I know, but it makes me feel better.

I have several phobias. My worst is fire - I have always been afraid of fire, and have a fear that I will one day die in a fire. I am also afraid of spiders and heights.

I have an immense fear of heights. I don't even like looking out of my bedroom window which is on the 1st floor of my house! I get these butterflies in my stomach and a funny prickly feeling in the backs of my knees. I don't know if this is a bit strange but that's what happens to me!

I fear of roaches and being at high places. also shadows, yes, shadows, even if the places are not in total darkness. I wonder why I have gotten these phobias, perhaps come from unknown trauma. because when I faced all these things, I felt my heartbeat unbearable. :(
