I feel really tired in these cold winter days! I just want to lie on my bed with my stuffed toy Toushi and cover myself with thick quilt. My weight is keeping on increasing for I nearly eat 4 meals a day coz this winter is so cold,I need food to provide me enough energy. Even worse,I'm in the exam season but now I'm not in the mood of preparing my exam!Ha~So bored! The books make me sick! I stop my indoor exercises and I know I'm less active in cold winter days.Friends,do you have the same experience like me?Do you keep on doing exercises in cold winter days?

My favorite form of exercise is walking/hiking, so in the winter that poses a bit of a problem at times. But, I pop in my workout and do indoor walking, a mile in 19 minutes, and then I do the second mile (same time length) with added weights. I can't afford to just sit around during the winter months that I'm off work. I work as a wildland firefighter for the forestry, and if I just sat around on my off months, it would take me weeks to get back into shape on the job.

Hi,palonghorn!I liking walking too but just in summer.^_^I know just stay at home without doing any indoor exercises will bring me a great problem to my weight.Of course in the chilly winter days,my weight is going on increase.I'm not motivated in winter time.Well maybe I should keep on doing indoor exercises. Thank you palonghorn!Have a nice day!

Hi shinjiao, in my place here, I couldn’t carry out my outdoor activities during heavy rainy days. The heavy rain here normally lasts for about several hours for a single day. So it won’t affect much on my daily activities. I did visit the city of Chengdu during cold winter. My hubby and I spent about three weeks there. We went out in the morning visiting several places and back to the hotel at the evening everyday. I found that if I stayed still and did nothing I would feel cooler. So I kept on doing activities. We tried as far as possible to walk instead of taking any vehicles. If for a long distance, we had no other choice and had to take a public transport. True, we tended to take more food especially after some tough activities like hiking and mountain climbing. With sufficient physical exercise we don’t have to worry much about putting on weigh even we take extra amount of food than usual.

I admire you lkbooi because I have never been to chengdu yet!I'm not joking! My holidays are divided into pieces for visiting the relatives.T_T My friend now study in chengdu and he told me chengdu is a comfortable city for everyone.Though the winter for most Northern people in China are wet and cold, the whole ambience of this city are friendly,easy-going and peaceful. The remarkable dishes in chengdu are well known for its spicy tastes.Because the weather in winter in chengdu is always cold and wet, people had to eat spicy food to get warm and energy. Thanks for your response, lkbooi!Happy mylotting!

I feel less active in the winter months. I always adore hot and warm weather and enjoy long walks and days out in the sunshine. But when it is cold and rainy I find myself indoors a lot. Revising for exams can be challenging when you are not feeling at your best. Good luck with all your exams.

I am very much less active when the weather is lousy. Winter is an especially inactive time of year for me. When it's cold and dark I like to bunker down in my house, and when it's warm and bright I am out doing all sorts of things. I'm definitely a summer person.

I love to go on walks and spend lots of time outdoors when it's nice out. It can be depressing during these yucky winter days, being stuck indoors. I have to force myself to exercise either on the treadmill, stationary bike, or with an exercise video. If I skip more than a day of exercise, I feel even worse physically and mentally.

hi shinji! ^__^ how is Toushi panda doing?? i'm less active during cold weather. not because i feel tired but because i feel lazy during those days. LOL its much nicer to cuddle up in bed when it is cold. work would just ruin the laziness mood. LOL but i don't eat that much like you! i eat less because i'd feel lazy to get and get something to eat. ^__^;; i wish i'm gaining weight too like you do. some of my officemates noticed that i got thinner and they say it would be better if i gain a little more weight. anyway, i don't do exercise too during cold weather. i rarely exercise even at hot weather. ^__^;; i just feel lazy when it is cold all around. like the coldness numbs my muscles and do its best to stop them from moving. LOL goodluck with your exams shinji! ^__^

I do find it harder to be active in the colder weather but I have a workout area in the basement I use regularly that helps. But I did get a full snowsuit for Christmas and I find I like to be outside more now because I am not as cold as I used to be. So I will go out sledding or sliding and making snowmen with the kids which helps me to stay active.

well i too really feel very lazy while working in winter days when its too cold.but since my going to job is very much important to make our living i do it.i feel if one has to do it by any means then we all do it.however if we think that we can prolong things that we avoid it.so i think you should get up and do your exercise and study as well.since thats how you are oging to make your career.i mean even others are also doing the same.dont be in bed otherwise you will feel more sleepy.

I am also much more lazy in winter... The cold just prevents me from doing anything I like doing in summer...

Definitely not this winter, I have plenty of exams later in the summer,so I procrastinate,if it's because of the weather I'm not sure. As for going outside, that has to suffer too,it's just too cold.

Thanks for your response, sergedan!Though I believe this winter is a "warm cold", the windy day makes me feel chilly.I don't want to go outside in cold winter days.I just want to lie on my bed and enjoy the warm inside my quilt.^_^

It depends on what type of weather is included in "bad weather". Sometimes yes, other times no. When it is raining or snowing, or anytime in winter, I'm not less active. I usually stay home so the cold or precipitation doesn't bother me. But, if hot temperatures are included in bad weather, then that'd be a yes from me. When it is hot, I don't feel like doing anything. I'm more likely to gain weight in the summer than winter because it is such an annoyance to exercise when I'm already feeling hot. I don't like to turn on the air conditioner either. In winter, the coolness of the house is beneficial because as I exercise, I don't have to turn on the fan s quickly.

I rather enjoy the bad weather days as well. =) I definitely am as active during good weather as in bad weather. The activities vary, though. But I do like to go jogging even if it rains. It has it's own magic and the feeling of returning to ones warm and cozy home for a shower is amazing! =)
