OMG! Im sitting here and I can hear this really loud thumping on my roof. Ive never heard that before. I would assume its squirrels. If not Im in trouble!LOL And by the way I keep my bird food in a plastic container outside and it was all chewed up they were trying to get into it. So I brought it down the basement. The nerve of them squirrels. They are trying to take over I think! Dont you?

Aw those squirrels they can be little rasclas sometimes. It is funny to watch them eat out of birdfeeders becasue they will hang upside down on them and every which way to get to the food.

We used to get squirrels in out attic. I know a lot of people think squirrels are cute, but really it was just gross - like have big rats in the ceiling. The only thing we could do to get rid of them was cut down all the trees with branches touching our roof.

Attack of the Killer Squirrels:Invasion Imminent
Sequel:The Final Frontier
Sounds like an excellent Horror film to me! LOL
Perhaps we could team up[ and write a screen play...What do you think?
Would it make Millions?
Let me know if you are interested ;)

ha, ha, ha, this reminds me of when we were doing home construction and was putting a larger, steeper roof on the older roof and we had feral cats climbing in between. It took us so long to finish it, that one of the cats had babies up there. talk about a racket..lol

Ah, falling branches from trees reaching over your house can make thumps.
Acorns dropping from an oak tree can also make a surprising noise.
But this morning I heard something that was obviously squirrels hopping across our roof. I have no idea what they were doing, but they seemed to be playing with each other. Maybe they were looking for acorns they stashed up there earlier in the year. I dunno.

Fortunately I have not had any problems yet with any squirrels on my roof but I know that it could be a problem at some point since the tree branches are getting closer to my townhouse. It is the attack of the squirrels as they are hungry and looking for food to eat, whether it is birdfood or any other type of food that they may enjoy. They keep making attempts to get up to my birdfeeder and have failed. I keep my bird food in a storage closet so they can not get to the food.

Guess they are a bit greedy this time of the year. Stealing bird food from those innocent, little birds. The nerve of those squirrels. I can hear them on our roof once in awhile but all that is up there are shingles. Doubt that fits into their diet!
Hope you had a good Sunday,

Squirrels on the roof sounds a lot better then bats in your belfrey.
Well it is winter, and the squirrels get hungry too.
Well seriously, I guess a lot of people have squirrel problems when it comes to bird feeders, maybe you can put out alternate food for the squirrels and they will leave your bird feeder alone.

Well, if they chewed through the plastic container with the bird food in it, they must have been mighty hungry! Why not put some food out for them - or would that encourage them too much?
We get possums in our roof and they can be just as noisy. They are so cute though, I haven't the heart to bait them. We just put up with it (or try to seal off the roof so they can't get in)!

Wow Terry what the heck is going on...first you're attacked by birds that pooped on you...then you're invaded by mice..still have them? And nowwwwww? Squirrels? Maybe it's not squirrels...do you have trees very close to your home cause maybe you have a Whompping Willow attacking you---you know how that tree hated invaders. LOL Maybe you could retaliate by attacking back with the mightiest defense known....whipped cream

Hahaha,LOL.I have alot here in the summertime that come amd go,but one has always stayed here,a female who had a bunch of babies this summer,5.The crows got 3,one got caught by a cat and one survived the summer, the mom left. The one that stayed is quite the weasel! It raids my feeders, but i boutgh feeders that it cannot get on.I hang them from a wooden pole that i banged in the ground and bought cheap metal hangers that you would hang flower pots on,the feeders have a tiny perch on them that only the bird can get on,plus if the squirrel hung upside down to try to reach one,it would fall,i laughed alot when that happened!Haha! Now i made a cabin, only a floor with 2 sides(small) and a roof just for the squirrel.I put peanuts, popcorn(loves it!)and sometimes sunflower seeds in it.It climbs up and gets some instead of raiding the bird seed and feeders.I had one on my house by my window staring on at me,the cats were on gaurd so,hehe. They chew wires under vechicles, wood on your house, plastic, etc but thats only if its a bad one, most of them dont do that and just chew on tree branches to naw their teeth down. They have teeth like beavers that continuely grow and need to be "filed" back. The one i have is not bad,its just crazy and curses at me when i take the feeders away to put food for the birds, hahaha!peep!,peep!squeak! They survive on acorns, bark, fungus on logs/trees and pine cones,so i dont think they would starve no matter what, they just want your good food, yum, yum!.When its crazy,i actually tell it to shut-up,as if it can understand me,then i throw a snow ball at it and watch it do its acrobatics in the trees, haha!!!!

Thats so funny you sound like me. I often talk to the squirrels I just hope no one hears me.hehehehe Like I said they tried to get into a big plastic container but didnt succeed. Yes their little teeth can do some damage. I also did the same thing I gave them a birdfeeder with just peanuts and sunflowers and they did love it. But then I had to stop because it was costing me too much money. I will have to start giving them their own food again.

Squirrels on a roof? Well at least its not snakes on your plane! *raises shield, waits for booing to die down* Sorry I had to! =P
Be careful with the squirrels, they don't know that much better, they are just being themselves. But watch if the same thing happened to me, I'd be ready to brawl. XD
I think the squirrels are getting braver by the day. I remember as a kid they use to always run away. Now a few are not minding me or others as much, a couple even try to approach when I'm sitting absolutely still/peaceful outside. Maybe they are trying to take over, or maybe the just want to get to know us.

They took over my parents attic last year. In every room almost we could hear them, and they chewed a hole so you could see one pop its head through a hole while you stood in front of the house. Moth balls got rid of them, but the damage was done. If only it had been Alvin, Simon, and Theodre.

Squirrels or pack rats. I get the same loud noises here - some evenings they have made (squirreled?) their way into the crawl area between the roof and the ceiling and you can hear them chasing and rolling a nut this way and that all over up there! if it was not so dern annoying it would be hilarious!

Did you ever find out for sure if those were squirrels on your roof? I would have a roofing company come check out your home to make sure the roof is fine and undamaged. Sometimes squirrels tear it up a bit and make holes so they can get inside the house. You definitely wouldn't want your roof leaking! ( http://adamstreetroofingkc.com )
