Ok, first let me just say, I'm not obsessed with death and killing right now. It just happens to be topics that keep popping up in different place. The way this topic came about was after reading some responses from one of my other discussions called: Dead Lady Over My Head. After reading some responses in regards to the smell of death, I recalled having watched a show some years ago. I can't recall which show it was, but one of the shows when old cases and murders are revealed. So, I decided to look the story up, it took 10 tries of rewording my search before I found it. But anyway, here's the scoop. In 1998 the son of this mother was questioned or heard something (can't remember which) about him having a twin sister. He had no clue what they were talking about. After some days of it continuously pondering on his mind he asked his mother and older brother about it and they more or less denied knowing anything and made him feel like he and his source were crazy. So after doing some research and finding out the truth he took this informaiton to the authories anonymously. While executing the search warrant of the woman's home they found the body of the little girl hidden in storage trunk in the back of the closet. This woman faithfully replaced the moth balls and air freshener hangers to cover the smell. That alone freaked me out. How can you keep going in the closet where you hid your dead 3 yr old. Anyway, also what I remember from the tv show, was that apparently what happend was the little girl was being disciplined and was either hit too hard or bumped her head. The older son helped his mom cover up this incident for 20 years. This was truly an overwhelming story to see on tv and then again when I read it to make sure I had information right to post here. What your thoughts on this? As a parent I'm just baffled. I guess the good thing is that the daughter could finally rest in peace and her twin brother knows the truth. Also, it makes you wonder, where was the other family? How could you not question about where the other twin is? This is so twisted in so many ways.

Wow that is extremely weird. As I was reading the same question that you asked keep going around in my head. Where was the rest of the family? And the Father? I mean it was only the mother and the older brother. But if the rest of the family had been there something could have slipped by mistake and surely none of the othe relatives would have kept quiet about it. They would have said something.

Well, who knows where the father was. As rare as it is, this woman was black. Rare because not many stories in this realm that are publicized are black. Anyway, but it is truly unsettling trying to figure out where the reat of the family was. The aunts, cousins, grandparents. I just can't believe that no one ever questioned what happened to the twin. I think I'm going to do some more research about this, and get some more detailed information. There has got to be something out there where family was interviewed or something. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for resoponding.

Yeah please do keep me posted because this sounds like a really interesting case. I mean it's just weird how nobody questioned anything.

That is really horrible! How come there are so many parents nowadays like to kill their own child. Not that they should be killing other people's children but to kill your own flesh and blood just does not make sense if you are sane. Somethings are driving these people insane...

I know, I can't imagine doing something like that to one of my kids. You are suppose to do whatever possible to protect them, keep them safe, and make sure no one harms them. And mothers of all people doing this to their children, I just can't find any understanding other than they must have some mental issues.

Oh, dramaqn, that is awful. I can't believe she did this for 20 years? Did it mention the age of the child and why some people didn't notice the missing twin? I can't imagine how this boy felt after finding out the truth. I wonder if he felt some kind of emptiness throughout his life?

I know it's baffling enough when we hear stories about crimes that were solved or bodies found after 20 years, and this just seems worse knowing she was in her mother's closet this whole time. And I remember on the tv show the authorities said what drew attention to the closet, was that they couldn't understand why every bedroom had a closet but hers. And then they noticed the hinges of the closet behind some clutter. Apparently she wasn't the best housekeeper either. I would think that he had to feel some sort of emptiness due to the fact they were twins. You know how twins say they have a connection. Also, I look at that I think it is better he found out through his own investigation and instincts to follow up on what he was hearing, rather than have something happen in the apartment, like a fire and then the body get found.

Wow! That is terrible; and very strange...I can't imagine why anyone would kill their child..It is even more un-nerving that they would keep them hidden in their closet after doing so; and then go in there frequently to replace moth balls and air fresheners, as if it were the most normal thing...very strange...very unsettleing..
