Should stores not put holiday items up so quickly?

Has anyone noticed that the stores anymore seem to be cramming every holiday down our throats? The day after Christmas, I saw that the local stores all had already put out the Valentine's Day stuff. This is really starting to irk me. I'm sure that the day after Valentines day, they'll have the Easter stuff out. Then they get into the Memorial Day displays and the like. It seems to me like as soon as one holiday is over, another one is on it's way and it seems all too quickly because of the stores so readily putting out their holiday items as soon as one holiday ends. It's nuts if you ask me. It's like the stores alwasy have a new display out. If it's not a holiday, it's an upcoming event. School starting, tax time, whatever. If a person was unconscious for a few months, they could go into any store anywhere and get a general idea of what month it is. From Valentines Day to Tax Time to School starting to Christmas, what do you think?

most stores have areas of their store designated strictly for holiday sales, and its not neccessarily them who pushes it, the retailers who sell the merchandise to them need to make their sales so they distribute their stock while the previous holiday is ending. nobody says you need to buy the stuff, but i did recognize that i went into a store dec 30 or sometime in there and i saw valentines candy already being put out. but in this day and age its all about meeting a quota and pulling in a profit, therefore the longer the retail is for sale to the public the better chance of making more. ALL ABOUT THE MONEY ! ! ! ! !

I personally think that stores push holidays too much. They want to make that mighty dollar before the next guy. The only thing is, people do not want to buy Valentine gifts a month in advance. Neither do people want to buy Easter stuff two months in advance of the holiday. This just puts more stock in a store and the stock just sits there. The store ends up loosing money because the stock grows old and expires before anyone buys it. Then there is the items that never move so they are still sitting on the shelves as well. This mean the store will loose money in the end because they will have to make the items way down or just throw the left over stuff away. It would be more profitable if the store only sold valentine items in the month of Feb. this way there is no extra and they will make money. Christmas is different people are always looking for the right gift so I think putting up Christmas stuff in early November is not a bad idea. Sales are always good but stores are just trying to get to far ahead of themselve. It is all about the money. Greed.
