why is it our sweet little girls turn into beautiful teenage girls with perpetual bad moods and the relationship with moms becomes a constant battle?

I guess the answer is the hormonal changes that go along with adolescence. Our job as moms is to not engage in battles and to try to be a good role model during that time. I know it's going to be challenging though; I used to be a youth and family counsellor. That said, I think it's important to remember that not all teenage girls are destined to make life difficult for their parents. We need to be optimistic as well as realistic.
