After alot of soul searching and talking to those who know my son,i have made the 1st step and made an appointment at the docs to discuss my concerns that he may have aspergers. All i know is that in years to come if things get harder for him and i know i had'nt done anything i would of felt awful,at least this way i am getting professional advice, either my son is shy with quirky ways or has aspergers.Either way we know and will love him for it.

If you are concerned, take her to the pediatrician now with your concerns. Early intervention in these situations is the best action to take. She can go on to live a good life. In 2002, the guy who won the Nobel prize for economics has Aspergers, his name was Vernon Smith.

Hi, my daughter has been diagnosed with Aspergers yet we are still learning how to work with her in all the areas she struggles with. I just wanted to let you know that I have just bought a book that I'm really liking. It is easy to understand and offers great ideas to deal with their "quirks". It is called Aspergers Syndrome and the Elementary School Experience by Susan Thompson Moore. Even though I've been told she has aspergers I always have wondered if it was something else, but since reading this book I'm now convinced it's Aspergers. Anwyay, just a resource I thought you might be interested in. Also, it is very informative of Aspergers overall, so your son doesn't necessarily need to be in Elementary school to get use of this book. Good Luck to you. :)
