Are you a morning person?

I thought it would be interesting to see how many of us like getting up in the morning... What time do you usually get up? does it take you long to wake up and be ready for the day? Do you like to sleep in? Do you wish you could sleep in more? etc... For me it is usually about 7:30am that I get up - I dont really start functioning properly till after my shower, then I get my kids thier breakfast and sit down for a coffee... I never used to be a morning person at all but I have gotton better over time especially once I had my kids as you just learn to get up and go about the day. Looking forward to hearing what others think :)

Hi mummybec!I have never been a morning person...I am sound asleep with my baby up to 12:30 noon or go beyond 2:00 PM.Depends if my baby wakes up early.Even when I was in my nursing career I'd rather be in the night shift.I get more rest and sleep during daytime that made me more energetic and could function well at night! Do I sound like a batgirl?LOL!

You are sooo lucky that your baby sleeps till then for you - how old is your baby? You dont sound like a batgirl at all :) When I worked I also preferred the night shifts - well as long as they did not give me a morning shift the next day as well!!!

I'm a morning person myself! I usually wake up around 530 in the morning then have a quick breakfast (usually oatmeals) then go to church and attend a mass together with my parents (they wake up early too). Its a nice experience coz I don't usually see my parents during the day so I could be with them even for just an hour. And what's nice about it is the early morning breeze is still chilly so you'd have some chills while you walk down the church corridors. After the mass, we go to our own offices a couple of miles from where we live. That's usually how we start a day as a family.

Almost everyday. Except on days where my feet are really heavy (meaning I'm too lazy to get up so early). But as much as possible I try to get up early and be with them at church.

sounds like there are quite a few that are early to wake :) I suppose we just get used to waking at a certain time so it gets harder to sleep in...

I won't wake up until 10:00 everyday. I like working at night and sleep in the day. Night is quite and no rings, no noisy. But for this season, I can hardly find job, because the most jobs need in time :(

Same condition was mine, I used to getup at 9.00 Am or 9.30 Am. But now with two kids 2 and 3 years of age I have to getup early or sometime too early for their daily activities. I don't need to go to gym because there is lot of exertion running after kids they out lot of excitement in my life. Now I have to get up at 6 .00 am so that before my kids getup I finish with ma work and look after them.

Yeah I think when you have kids you generally just start getting up earlier... some days can be quiet busy so you need to get up early to fit it all in.

I'm more of a nocturnal person, I like the quiet nights. I feel free during these times, nobody to disturb me on whatever I want to do. But I do get up early at mornings, I only get to sleep at around 2 or 3am and I still manage to wake up early at around 7 or 8 am.

I am a morning person, not because I jump up outta bed and get going, lol but because I like the quiet time I have in the morning. I get up between 6:30 and 7, have a cup of coffee, watch the weather, and check email, mylot, etc. Then around 8 I get in my workout, and get energized for the day. Since I work seasonal for the forestry service, this is my schedule now that I'm off on leave. When I go back to work in March, it will go back to my work routine, up at 5:30, coffee, check email etc, get ready for work and leave around 7:30. I rarely, if ever, sleep past 8. I agree with you about the kids part, I remember those days, lol. Mine are now 25 and 18, and both out on their own.

Hi mummybec, I can actually say that I am not a morning person per se. I like having brunch rather breakfast. I am always rushing for work in the morning if I have a work shift that starts early in the morning, and I just do better when I get up after 10:00 a.m. I tend to take a nap during the day if I wake up any earlier than 10:00a.m. I am just wired that way. Take Care.

Hi adforme, Hehehe... I used to be absolutley hopeless if I got up early in the morning too... But that kinda changes with kids... or is it that we just get used to getting up at a certain time? hehehe I like the brunch idea though... I also used to do that a bit :)

I am not a morning person. My kids were on Christmas break so for 2 weeks I got to sleep in for at least an hour longer but today was a rude awakening because school started again and I had to get up at 6am to get them ready. After they left I went back to bed. I am not a morning person.

My hubby was on holidays over christmas so I got a few mornings that I could stay in bed a little longer - also the kids had a few sleep in too which was great as that also meant I did :)

I used to be much more of a morning person, waking up at 4:30 or 5:00 each day, but, now I find it hard to wake-up before 7:00. The problem is I stay up WAY too late on the internet!

I love the mornings the most.Seeing everyone getting up and hear the birds outside.Especially when it's a sunny morning in the weekend. During the week i get up at 6 also because i have to go to work but in the weekend i get up at 8 or 9 at the latest. When i'm off work i also get up at 8 and have some tea or coffee with my mom.The afternoon i like too but when the evening falls men i just hate it and i don't like the dark. But then i go to bed early and before i know it it's morning already.

I don't do mornings. I hate to wake up in the morning, so I try to go to work in the afternoon (as much as my bosses allow me that). I even take the afternoon classes. All that because I can't even open my eyes before 12... but that does not mean I am lazy... it's just that I can do anything better during the night...

I am so totally not a morning person. I like to stay up late and sleep in. Before school time, I had my kids all trained to stay up late and sleep in with me as well. My daughter who is 20 months is a night-owl too.

Thats great that your kids would do that for you - I also knew someone who let thier kids stay up late so they would sleep in when they were little - it doesnt really work with my kids though - if they stay up late they still wake at the same time in the morning...
