I need your help/input. I would like to open a designer consignment shop but

I like to sell on ebay too. I was trying to figure out how to move forward. I know this business owner that has a consignment shop and WOW she has some awesome designer products, I mean really nice, a little pricey, but I guess she has to make her money too. I wanted to open a store like that too, have designer consignment shop in the front of the store and to the back of the store or upstairs have a thrift store perhaps if the items don't sell people can come and pick up or donate to the thrift portion of the store. On the other hand, I love to sell on ebay too and I don't want to give that up. However, I do not want to sell on consignment on ebay, because I tried it with a family member and because they didn't get the amount they wanted, and I didn't charge her any fees, she got upset with me. I told her one of her product probably wouldn't turn a big profit but they don't understand the logistics of selling via ebay..no matter how hard I tried to explain. Problem is, I do not have a clue on how to get started, or what to look for. I was thinking to start at our local flea market, get a small space and if I do well and save my money and get a bigger place, then hopefully keep expanding. Got any input to add?
