On Friday or Saturday I started a discussion about a high school student committing suicide in school. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1371125.aspx As it turns out that was only partially correct. I have since found out that he did shoot himself but it happened in his car at home, not in school. The reason they had a police presence at the school was because they feared more violence.
I just wanted to let you all know that, especially those who had responded to the earlier discussion. I haven't replied to many of you because once I found out the whole story I didn't know what else to say on that one...until now when I thought to just start a new discussion to explain the whole thing!

I totally understand. I've heard reports on the news before in the morning and start telling all of my friends about the horrific thing that happened. Then in the afternoon, the news has totally changed their story.

I was wondering because I hadn't seen anything on the news and it would have been on our local news here. Gosh, what would ever lead a young person like that to do such a horrid thing? It's so sad and tragic as well as scary because you never know how that sort of violence may spread. Thank God this young man didn't decide to take others out with him!

Still a very sad and tragic story, either way. I wonder what was going on in his life to cause him to do that....Just so sad...
