http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/080103/world/international_safrica_lion_dc_1 I noticed there are a couple more news about lions or tigers attacking human in the zoo. But this one just didn't seem right. He was the caretaker and wasn't new at this job at all, and this happened in full view of witnesses? I don't know about you but I think they should find out more about these witnesses. Lions did what they always do, they killed the man and ate him. This will happen to any human or animals entering their territory. That's why it's strange why a caretaker for years who would've known lions are beasts regardless where they are kept, would out of the sudden went in to feed them without a gun or anything to protect his life? Even at the African zoo over here, we can only go in by a car in closed window. No one can ensure our safety if we don't close the window. What do you think about this?

It is not typical for lions to eat humans. First, female lions are hunting in groups. Male lions are very lazy. If any lions can attack it can be group of females. This is my view: It was perfect set up. Maybe bet or an order. Lions where hungry (maybe did not eat for few days) and didn't care what he bring with. Second option is that some people made them angry... Animals have very good memory in forgiveness is not in their vocabulary... I also think that only retarded person luck himself in cage with 9 lions.....without thinking first. You can tame lions but it takes long time and you can do one lion at the time.... It is easier to tame lions in free environment than in zoo or circus....

even if it's a bet he should know better and if it's an order then it's murder in another word because this is not something he did before so why would anyone ordered him to do it he was a caretaker, far from gladiator

I think sometimes ppl forget that these animals are not pets...they are in fact wild animals. They hunt and kill b/c that is what comes naturally to them. They shouldn't be punished or killed for doing what comes naturally. Just b/c they are caught and caged doesn't mean they are pets and ppl can treat them like one. This guy should have known better. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I cannot understand why someone would believe that lions would not eat people. I think he must have watched to many Disney shows and started to believe that animals are friends to humans. Wild animals look on people as food and if they were let loose as some may suggest, guess who they will go after first, us. Oh and it does not matter if the man was white or black. Why do you think the African boys had to learn how to use a spear at an early age before the white men came and even afterwards? It was because the lions would attack and eat the small children if their village was not defended. Lions will attack anyone they consider as food. That game warden forget that rule. He thought these were large pu**y cats and he paid with it with his life.

I just don't think he forgot, suspenseful. I mean he was at this job for years, I'm sure he was aware of the danger so what really happened ?

That was really sad. Maybe the man thinks the lions known him and won't eat him. Most prolly the lions are really hungry and saw him as a food. I hope this will serve as a lesson for zoo keepers not to do the same. Usually those we see in circus just ate their meal and not interested in getting a bite soon.

I don't know if these lions are trained like the ones in circus, but it doesn't seem right someone who was at the job that long didn't know better
