Cheap friends

I have finally come to my wit's end w/ my cheap friend...everytime we go out to eat, she places her order with specific (sometime ridiculous) requests...when her plate arrives she complains that it's not how she expected it and asks for changes to be made or a whole new order...after impatiently waiting for her "correct" meal while watching me eat mine (while it's hot)... THEN when the bill comes she's appalled b/c her meal isn't complimentary or offered a free dessert for her "inconvenience" AND leaves a horrible tip...mumbling "nurses do more for people and don't get tipped"...GOOD GRIEF..it seems she expects the best of everything w/o having to pay...

There's nothing wrong with speaking up if there is something wrong with your order but, wow, she takes it to a new level. Tell her how stupid she's being and if the message doesn't get through don't eat with her anymore.

Well, god I would love to talk to that friend. If I have waited on one like her I have waited on them all. Everyone that works there pretty much laughs at them and talks about them for the idiots they are. Even management. Next time she says that remind her that nurses dont get paid less tha $4/hr and that a lot of nurses worked there way through college by waiting tables. Not to mention if I were her nurse and she treated me like that you can imagine the medical treatment she would get. I hate her kind.

Well...this just in...the other night I ran into a mutual friend of said friend and she told me that she recently had to cut off our friend...whenever they dine together she asks for separate checks and had to tell her it's b/c she seems to always get stuck w/ the full tip and tax too...whew! I thought it was just me!!

Geez! I think you should talk to your friend and give her a piece of your mind! She wouldn't want me do the talking I am definite about that. Lolz! I don't think that the way she acted was proper. She's lucky that I was not the one waiting on her... She's luckier that I am not the cook! She's luckiest that I am not the resto's manager or owner. Otherwise, I would have kicked her out of the resto and tell my people never to let her come in ever again! Seriously, please talk to your friend about her attitude. I believe that she will listen to you..

It's better to have a serious talk with "friend". you would have to remind her about her behaviour. And tell her not to act like that.

I don't have any friends that act like that, because if they would act like that id ask them to go shove their heads up a place where the sun don't shine. My parents raised me to always try to be plight and honest to other people, since the friend you describe lacks both, hopefully only during occasions like that you experienced. I would feel som embarrased if i actually had such a friend, treating people lite trash. no, that behavior goes against my ettiques.

That's really crazy... how did you come to meet her? I'd ask her to stop doing that. In my country we don't leave tips. If I went to a country where tipping was commonplace, I wouldn't leave one. That's what salaries are for.

Well, that is considered rude in countries that tips are considered commonplace. If servers were to be paid salaries then tips would not be commonplace now would they? If they paid servers salaries at the major restraunts a burger would cost you $12 or more in order for their to be enough servers to give good service it would cost that much in labor. It costs a lot more pay/hr to make a living over here then some countries so they cant pay like $3/hr and not get tipped.

Not to mention if they paid hourly wages people like her friend would get told off on a regular basis because the person would not make enough money to care about their job or her business. That is what happens at fast food restruants.

I feel tipping is a good way to tell whay you felt about a restaurant, when me and my little brother was at a nice cafeteria i left a tip, because i really liked the service and the female employees were cute. The sandwiches me bougth there totaly kicked a**, if id know that id leave a bigger tip.
