Does your baby love animals or ignore them?

My baby loves animals and they seem drawn to him as well. He smiles seeing cats and they love to hang around him. Our neighbors/friends on our property have dogs, white doves and a rabbit among other animals - like chickens and he loves to watch them. What about your children - especially your baby - do they like animals, do the animals like them?

My daughter is almost 18 months and she loves animals too. We dont have any pets, but the neighbours have a few friendly cats that come over and visit when we are outside. She really LOVES cats. she gets really excited and starts wanting to pet them and she is really gentle with them unlike some babies that i've seen with animals. She doesnt really pay much attention to the dog my friend owns, but its a big dog and she's always been around it for as long as she can rememeber, so maybe she's just more of a cat person at heart like her mommaa :) She also loves to see butterflies in books, we have a book about saying goodnight to butterflies and other books with pictures of butterflies in them and she absolutely loves them. she points and squeels to everyone one of them she sees everytime. lol. it's cute.

I love that there is a book like that! My son - who now is twenty months about - loves them too. He loves nature in general. He loves pointing to the trees when its window and there making noise with the wind. I tell him the leaves are dancing with the wind. Or the trees.

my youngest just loves our animals, and he is much more gentle than our oldest ever was (or still is actually) it's so sweet to see him snuggle up to our cat, because our cat hates people, besides our little one.. they love each other and curl up on his little pooh bear couch together.. (:

That is so cute. I love how animals will adopt children in the family. We have a cat that wants to adopt us and he always makes a bee line for the baby first!

It is cute. My baby loves animals too and points to them if he can't get at them, and if he can, wants to pet them and tries to pick them up.

I will create chances for my child to be interested in animals. Now when he sees cats or rabbits, he will like to touch them and he likes them.

I think that's wonderful. I think this is very important to their baby education!

My daughter isn't around a whole bunch of animals but the ones she is around really gets her attention. We took her to the zoo over the summer but I think she was too young to really care. I think this summer she will love the zoo. My mother-in-law has a little dog and she thinks my daughter is trying to play with her when she is crawling. Have a great day.

I think some babies are always aware and some don't care 'till later - and both usually want their own pet!

My 15 month old LOVES animals especially dogs. He calls all animals "Dobie" which was our pet minpin. Now, I'm trying to teach him the difference between the species. He knows Cow, Horse, and Dog. So hes doing pretty good! To answer your question yes, he loves animals!

My 21 month old baby already has a clear love for animals... she can identify a dog from afar... and know how to imitate their bark... she also loves cats and cows... and knows how to make their sounds... she is not afraid of these animals and would want to play with them... but of course i don't allow her to... maybe when she is old enough and the dogs are quite tame... I would encourage this love for animals... it is good for the development of her personality...

My granddaughter loves animals too....and would be on the farm all the time if they let her. My daughter in law's best friend lives on a farm and Ali would love to be out there roaming around. She does have her own pets too..Britt a Pug and a bunch of fish. Whenever you see Ali you see Britt....and it's the other way around too!

My baby is also very drawn to animals. In fact, both of my girls are. I have a 5 year old and a 20 month old. The 20 month old seems to be more into animals though. She always points at them and says aahhh! Then she blows kisses at them. If it is an animal she is very familiar with she will do all the above then pet or hug it. I love that my kids are animal lovers like I am. I don't understand it when people hate animals.

my son loves animals. He loves petting the cats. sometimes he is a little rough but he's learing to be more gentle. he also barks like a dog sometimes. his favorite book is brown bear brown bear. this summer we are goining to visit the zoo and see all the animals. He was too little to go last year.
