My cat threw up all over the house last night

I wake up in the morning and found the mess on my sheet, then the whole house. He poured the milk I had given him. I really don't know the problem with my capt. Marhony, he has never reacted this way. Is he mad at me or he is sick? Any cat lover in here? Please help me.

I agree. You should consider taking your cat to the vet, just for peace of mind. Another thing to do is to avoid giving him any more milk. He may be allergic to it; give him fresh water daily instead. You should also know that cats do puke every so often for whatever reason, and it's annoying when it happens. And why they have to puke on rugs especially is beyond me and a subject for another topic. If I feed my cat, Mimi, chunky canned cat food, she will most definitely upchuck it, so I avoid giving her anything like that and she's fine. My Columbus cat will regurgitate every so often; mostly it's spit-up rather than vomit, but still a nuisance to deal with when it happens. Cats lick themselves and throw up from having too much fur on their tongues or in their throats.

You are right my friend, I should take him to the vet for my mind to be peaceful. It was the first time he puked and thats why I was suprised, and he puked on the rugs. It seems you are a cat lover and you have their interests at heart. Thanks for the good advice and thanks for taking time to respond.

I don't think milk is so good for cats to drink. But I would definitely get him checked out, to see if he's alright.

I have been giving him milk since he was a small kitten and he liked it. Maybe he has grown up and out of milk. I think I should stop giving him milk. Thanks alot for the good advice.

I agree. I worked in a pet store for quite some time and only small kittens should drink milk. But you also have to be conscious of things like, how long the milk has been out and what kind of milk it is. I don'n recommend giving your full grown cat milk.

The excess throwing up sounds like he is ill. I would take him to the vet if I was you.

He only threw up in the wee hours of the night but right now he is ok, has not puked and he is playing and jumping around.

Maybe he ate something that disagreed with him? My kitty Ashley has a very sensitive stomach and she throws up when she eats something that doesn't sit well.
