depression is real, and is completely different to just being a bit miserable. depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. you can find yourself crying for absolutely no reason at all. it is a real medical condition. not a figment of the imagination.

You can never be sure what is the reason for depression, even there are many versions about it. There are individual factors, because we are different and react to the situations arround differently. There are also genetical and subconsious factors, some people are more prone to depressions without to have a logical explanation about it.

Depression is defiantly real. The only real problem I see is that a lot of people will use depression to get special attention, or the self diagnosis themselves. Dr.'s even over diagnosis depression if you ask me. I just took a psychology class in college, it was actually very interesting to learn the true meaning behind a lot of these mental illnesses. My teacher even said that depression is over diagnosed. It's just crazy ! ! Sometimes a person will go into see the shrink and claim to be depressed just to be put on pills. I have seen it happen and thats sad.

depression is definatly real and not something that should be taken lightly, i do however feel that depression is often misdiagnosed and also that many well people are taking advantage of this illness by using it to gain benefits for themselves such as health benefits financially or to get off work etc, which affects those of us that actually do suffer from it,and that have a daily struggle with survival. those who abuse the system like this will never really know how it affects other peopleand how much they are setting back help for people that really need it!

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage depression, as it is part of life in busy world. But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.

Positron Emission Tomography (P.E.T.) scans show that depressed brains are different than normal brains. And guess what color is predominant on the PET scans of the brains of depressed people? You guessed it: blue.
